Tactical & Practical
REVIEW: Ronin Tactics Task Force Belt
08/29/2017By SPARTANAT crew
I'm sorry, I can't help with that request.

Belts are not only used to hold up pants. With their help, various equipment, which is mostly essential, can be carried directly on the person. For individuals in action, a weapon, a first aid kit, and ammunition are usually included. The Task Force Belt from Ronin Tactics offers a special approach to this. It is a mix, or better said, a combination of an inner and outer belt to securely hold up the pants and carry equipment safely. Both should be as narrow as possible to avoid unnecessary weight or pressure points from double buckles. Here is the fully loaded belt with holster, IFAK kit, dump pouch, two rifle magazine pouches, two pistol pouches, and a safety lanyard. The interior view – here you can immediately see the first feature, the entire inside of the outer belt is sewn with hook-and-loop Velcro. The detailed view also shows that everything is sewn multiple times. Here you can also see another feature, namely the MOLLE strips on the outside. Pockets can be mounted at a certain height and place. They cannot slip and therefore always sit in the same place, which of course makes movement easier in stressful situations, as everything is in exactly the place as trained. By combining the two belts, you also don't have to worry every time the belt needs to be taken off and put back on with the pockets, for example when the pants need to be washed. The front view. There are several things to note: The AustriAlpin Cobra buckle with D-Ring ensures a secure closure. Thanks to the D-ring and a certified safety lanyard, you can secure yourself in helicopters. The Cobra buckle is also a newer version, which is noticeable by the small tabs to open the belt.

Further, the MOLLE system stands out, as mentioned earlier. Pockets, carabiners, knives – anything that fits through can be mounted and stays in place. The material used for the loops is the same as that for the belt. They are extremely durable and there is no need to worry about them tearing out. The inner belt is also visible in this image. The back view with the belt attached. It sits securely and does not slip, neither up nor down, thanks to the Velcro. The weight is also evenly distributed all around. Full stiffening in the belt helps prevent it from collapsing under heavy loads. Side view: here is an example of mounting pockets. The Ronin belt provides us with sufficient space. If you have a larger waist size, you will naturally have more space for pockets.

The belt is comfortable to wear, as long as you have slightly padded pants. There is no specific provision for suspenders. This could be realized through the loops but would not be the main purpose of this belt. If you want something like that, there would be better solutions, such as a War Belt without Velcro but with suspenders. Here is the Ronin Tactics inner belt. This is also stiffened and has a Velcro outer layer. The closure is also Velcro. The thickness is exactly the same as the outer belt. At the same time, it is tactically wide, therefore unsuitable for civilian pants. However, for airport visits, the inner belt alone proves to be practical, as it naturally does not contain any metal parts and does not need to be taken off for metal detectors. A nylon loop at the end makes opening easier. The ends: outer belt on the left, inner belt on the right. These are angled to simplify threading. You can immediately feel how effective this is. Especially with the outer belt and the Cobra buckle, this is extremely helpful. Extremely practical is also the fact that due to the thickness and width of the outer belt, any holster can be attached, either via MOLLE or directly on the belt. This offers a wide range of options and possibilities.

CONCLUSION: The Ronin Tactics Task Force Belt is extremely well made and very robust. The option to quickly remove the outer belt is ideal when it is heavily loaded, as in our example. However, it can be securely and quickly put back on.

The belt shown here is size Medium. For comparison, the model usually wears size 30 pants, and the belt could also be tightened if necessary.

The Velcro system between the belts has also had an impact on other models, allowing other manufacturers to be brought in. This way, for different operations, you can put together a belt and quickly switch without having to mount a lot of accessories.

The pants shown in the review are the Claw Gear Field Short, which we reviewed HERE.

The Ronin Tactics Task Force Belt is available directly HERE at Ronin Tactics in the USA for 185 US Dollars.
