We want to show you all the beautiful plates available to make your sporting life difficult. ROGUE is a big brand name when it comes to CrossFit, so it makes sense that they have plates that they sell along with the 5.11 Tactical TacTec Plate Carrier. Here we have one to show, the heaviest one weighing 8.75 pounds. So, each plate weighs four kilos, making it a total of eight sweaty kilos for your sporting endeavors.
The magic of this plate is that it is significantly shorter than others. This means you have more mobility at the bottom with the plate carrier if you manage to attach it at the top edge.
This is the Zeus plate carrier from Pentagon, which we will introduce soon. The ROGUE plate takes up the upper two-thirds - but you should sew two additional straps inside so that the training plate can be securely fastened. The inner velcro of the compartment is not enough.
ROGUE also engraves its name in noble metal and has also opted for the simpler form: the plate is completely straight, without curvature. However, it is smaller than the competition from Beaverfit, which we introduced last time: this makes it slightly more comfortable in movement. As mentioned, the blue plate is the heaviest at 4 kilograms, there are also 5.75 and 3.75 LB options - that is 2.6 and 1.7 kilograms. Everyone has to start small.
CONCLUSION: What makes hundreds of thousands of CrossFitters happy in search of their near-death experience cannot be wrong. Simple, straight plates for training and with weight gradations, because not everyone can start big. The problem arises if you do not use the original CrossFit-adapted 5.11 plate carrier: the plates are noticeably shorter than normal SAPIs, so you need to pay attention to the fastening to ensure that the top edge of the plate aligns with the top edge of the plate carrier. In the worst case, the ROGUE plate sits too deep on the Velcro closing the plate pocket, and in the worst-case scenario, it may come off when you jump and force the Velcro with the weight. You do not want your toes to experience that, so pay attention to your plate carrier!
The 8.75 LB Vest Plate Pair is available directly from ROGUE for 60 euros. The 5.75 LB variant costs 46 euros, and the 3.75 LB is priced at 40 euros. ROGUE also sells the original 5.11 Tactical TacTec CrossFit Carrier. EVERYTHING is available HERE.
