REVIEW: Rite in the Rain Spiral Notebook Kit

Writing in the rain (or in the shower) on paper and everything stays intact? Yes, that's possible with the products from Rite in the Rain. We took a look at the Spiral Notebook Kit, available at Comrade.

Spiral Notebook

A simple notebook sized 15×10 cm with ~100 sheets of light green, squared special paper. This paper does not absorb any water and can be written on with all types of pens. We soaked a sheet in water for a week, but couldn't notice any changes to the paper. A special feature of the notebook is the cover, which includes an inch and centimeter ruler, three different map readers (1/25k; 1/50k; 1/100k), and the most important conversion numbers for "Imperial" to "Metric" and vice versa.

All-Weather Pen

A pen from space research. Writes in all weather conditions, from -34° to +121°C and even upside down. A real advantage is that you can write over water and even oil stains without smudging. The matte black finish also gives the pen a very elegant look.

Bag

A custom-fit Cordura bag with four pen slots and two large slots for notebooks. Very KISS (Keep It Stupid Simple). The bag and its contents fit perfectly in the thigh pocket of a BDU or similar.

CONCLUSION: A really good combo product from Rite in the Rain. Those who often find themselves in wet conditions and need to write something will be very pleased with this. Don't forget to bring the obligatory pencil with hardness "B" just to be safe!
