An equipment item that has faithfully accompanied SEALs and other SOF for decades is the Protec Full Cut. In the image above, everyone is wearing it. It is often seen during parachute jumps or maritime exercises. Today, we want to show it to you in more detail.
From the side, you can see the classic shape well, otherwise there are no notable details to mention. We bought the helmet used, the previous owner treated it with sandpaper and black matte paint. The finish is now very smooth and shiny. This helmet naturally offers no ballistic protection, only protection against impacts. Originally, the helmet comes from whitewater sports.
Here is the front view. With the helmet on, you sometimes have a certain resemblance to the "Melon Hat Cat", but "form follows function." This helmet is also very functional, its biggest drawback is that it is difficult to wear headsets underneath.
The interior also appears very simple. The padding consists of two layers: a thick, black, dense foam layer on the outside and a thin, soft, gray layer towards the head. On top of this is a neoprene skin for protection. The size adjustment is located at the back of the head. According to the label, the helmet fits head circumferences from 57 to 60.
Conclusion: A classic, functional protective helmet for many activities. The wearing comfort is extremely comfortable.
Available on Ebay and various shops starting from 50€ excluding shipping.
