REVIEW: Propper ATACS BDU

If you want to look particularly dirty without actually being dirty, then ATACS camouflage is recommended. Propper offers a uniform in this pattern. Today, we want to give you the details:

Even the back can be charming. In the picture, you can see the uniform in all its rear glory. Actually, a very simple glory, as most people know it. The length is such that the back remains well-covered even when bending down, so no expose of the mud cleavage. The entire cut is in the current ACU style.

The material is a 50/50 Nyco mix, not too hot but not too cold either. Definitely sturdy enough to crawl through a few thorn bushes without sustaining significant damage. On the chest, there are two diagonally mounted pockets, which are easily accessible without a vest, but are considered useless with a rig. On the upper arms, there are the well-known pockets, which are equipped with plenty of Velcro on the outside. On the left forearm (bottom picture), there is a pocket for three pens or similar items. The sleeve cuff can be adjusted with a Velcro closure. On the back, there is the option to insert foam inserts as elbow pads.

The pants are also relatively unspectacular from today's perspective. Spacious thigh pockets with Velcro closure and adjustable elastic bands. At the lower leg, there are also the useful "car driver pockets." Unfortunately, there are no integrated knee pads or similar.

Lastly, a suitable headgear. The Boonie hat is quite classic, without much frills. The wearing comfort is very good.

CONCLUSION: For those looking for a functional and proportionally affordable ATACS outfit, this uniform is definitely recommended. It is unfortunately not up-to-date in terms of clothing technology after Crye, but it offers exactly what some people need at a price that many can afford.
