REVIEW: PPD LWAC ammo box

11/11/2022By Redaktion

The classic Tupperware for men is the M2A1 steel ammunition box. The design has not been significantly changed since the 1950s. PPD from Denmark has set out to bring the classic ammunition box into the 21st century, and in our video review, we explain the advantages of the Lightweight Ammunition Can (LWAC) ammunition box.

Here are the advantages summarized:

  • 67% lighter than the steel box; 800 g instead of 2,400 g.
  • Polymer composite material, in case of fire the box evaporates instead of exploding as shrapnel
  • Low noise during handling and contact with surfaces
  • No risk of spark formation
  • Fully compatible with existing mounts for M2A1 boxes
  • Bumps for stack security, similar to LEGO
  • Fully recyclable/reusable
  • Food safe

CONCLUSION: We have been using the boxes for half a year now and we really like them. The much lighter weight simply allows for more use cases than with the heavy steel box. The LWAC works very well in a larger backpack as a protective container for sensitive equipment. The robustness is more than sufficient, and the content is stored dust and waterproof.

The PPD M2A1 Ammunition Box is available in our SPARTANAT shop until the end of the year for 40 euros instead of the manufacturer's RRP of 47.50 euros. Colors available are Green, Black, and Sand.
