Raise the pitchforks! The Pitchfork Systems MPC Modular Plate Carrier has landed with us and is up for review. It was developed with a focus on the changing requirements of the police and military. And they didn't forget about the players either. Pitchfork Systems is a new brand with headquarters in Switzerland - and antennae reaching out to Europe.
Here it shines in all its glory in Coyote color. Modular and lasercut immediately catch the eye. Made of 500D Cordura laminate, it weighs 1,060 grams. A variety of components can be easily reconfigured or removed as desired. Here a closer look reveals the drop system. More on that later. Rubber bands for cable management are located on the sides and shoulder attachments. The front panel can be replaced with another or completely removed. Alternatively, the MCR Modular Chest Rig can be placed directly without having to change or update the buckles. Here is the top buckle. This is an ITW QASM buckle. The others are unfortunately not from ITW. In general, however, they can all be easily removed as well. It is also closed on the sides by two buckles. Initially, they can be a bit stiff, but this improves with use. Here it is open because we have something planned. We remove the front panel. Here it is by itself. The Chest Rig also comes with a piece of Velcro of the same size to cover the back. Together with a harness, the detached front can then be transformed into a Micro Chest Rig in just a few steps. On the small tabs behind, you can reattach the buckles to use other front panels. Here is a detailed view of the removable side buckle. Jumping up to the shoulders. There are comfortable shoulder pads. Top view. There is the possibility to secure cables or hydration tubes using Velcro. A shoulder pad removed and open. In the middle is hook Velcro to keep the pads in place. Detail view of the Velcro strap for internal cable management. Precision cut and sewn. Another detailed view. Don't worry, these were the last shoulder pads. For those who want, the pads can also be completely removed. Those who don't want to weigh down their plate carrier too much will be able to live with it.
