A Blue Mauritius is a stamp that is very rare and very valuable. With this combat suit it is just the same. Although it's not blue and doesn't come from Mauritius, LANDCAMO has only ever been realized in very few projects. Which is a great shame. But PITCHFORK SYSTEMS has dared to implement it with its Advanced Combat Shirt and Advanced Combat Pants.
This is how it looks on a person. You immediately feel more valuable. The camouflage is called LANDCAMO Mammut, it is one of several patterns from the camouflage family: HERE is an interview with the founder of LANDCAMO. We conducted this back in 2014.
And from the back, it looks like this. We didn't even see the Mammoth... The products are manufactured in Central Europe, using very high-quality materials: Original Velcro, YKK zippers, the shirt is made of US Polartec PowerDry FR), 4-way elastic from TWEAVE Durastretch made in the US.
But let's go into detail and start with the Advanced Combat Shirt. PITCHFORK takes classic and solid approaches.
The zipper opens the neck wide. A nice detail is the camo strap at the end of the zip.
High collar protects against the sun, rubbing of the rifle strap and hot casings on the neck.
Looking over the shoulder: Here is also a wonderful impression of the camouflage pattern LANDCAMO Mammut. Slightly psychedelic super spot camouflage, let's say exaggerated.
Rolling the sleeve down, we see slight color differences on the bicep and at the end, where the width can be adjusted with a Velcro strap.
The logo of PITCHFORK. Next to it, the printed Velcro. It doesn't quite match in color, but integrates well into the Combat Shirt ensemble.
The upper arm has an attached upper arm pocket.
And the body of the Combat Shirt is long enough, so nothing slips out when you tuck it into your pants.
This is the Advanced Combat Pants from PITCHFORK: you can get them in regular basic colors as well as Swiss camo and Multicam. This one is exclusive LANDCAMO Mammut, we don't even want to take them off anymore.
You can fasten the waist with velcro and a zipper.
Deep pocket and a reinforced edge on the pocket, because everyone carries a pocket knife or a flashlight. Below is the front thigh pocket.
Also hidden in the pocket is the height adjustment for the knees, done in Shock Cord.
We exaggerated and pulled the knees all the way up...
The PITCHFORK works like many Combat Pants with 4-Way Stretch in essential areas. Makes the pants more flexible in movement.
You can wear a really wide belt and underneath there is an adjustable waist with velcro on the pants.
The thigh has a versatile pocket duo, the large one is located slightly towards the back.
And this is the small one, which directly follows.
With the zipper, you can attack vertically, which is very practical while driving.
Slit in the flap and you can easily insert something big like a flashlight or tool.
Closes with Velcro and buttons. There is also a small lanyard in the pocket.
The knees. Yes, stretch on the pants is good. Yes, Cordura on the knees is good. But friends: with the beautiful and rare Landcamo Mammut, does there have to be a Coyote brick? Unfortunately, there is no Cordura made from Mammut...
You can insert protectors into the knee compartment. Foam or the D30 or Crye's.
All good things must come to an end: here with elastic and hooks in the front to secure in the shoes, so the pants don't ride up.
The wonderful pants from behind. Less Coyote, more Mammut. Very cool.
New camouflage? What does it do? How good is it? - Every camouflage is only as good as its background. And then it depends on how versatile it is. LANDCAMO Mammut blends in very well here.
When walking on white gravel and glaring summer light, you can see that the colors are very vivid and that there is also a white and gray component in the pattern.
This becomes exciting with the fine pixelation, especially when there is light play as often seen in wooded areas.
The Mammoth likes to hang out among the bushes and takes on all the colors of its surroundings.
And it feels at home in undergrowth with leaves and earth tones.
A solid woodland camouflage that blends leaves, stones, and earth.
Our Mammoth also loves mossy and rocky environments. Overall, a great pattern; it's a pity that there is hardly any other gear available in this pattern.
CONCLUSION: Solid combat suit, great camouflage pattern. A must-have for all camouflage enthusiasts and collectors of rare patterns. Otherwise, it's ready-to-use gear.
The PITCHFORK Advanced Combat Set in Landcamo Mammut is available at TACSTORE: The Combat Shirt costs 199.95 Euro, the Combat Pant 329.95 Euro. A Mammoth Boonie is also available for 49.95 Euro. For your own projects, you can purchase Mammoth Landcamo fabric at a price of 34.95 Euro per meter.
