REVIEW: PHANTOMLEAF Python Assaulter Ghillie G1

When it snows, the environment suddenly turns white. If you want to be camouflaged then, you better put on something in matching colors. PHANTOMLEAF has something for you, the Python Assaulter Ghillie G1. In the pattern WASP II Z3b "High-growth with snow coverage" you blend perfectly into the wonderful, wintry environment.

With the PHANTOMLEAF Python Assaulter Ghillie G1, you get a hooded overcoat made of a lightweight fabric. The entire camo cape weighs only about 220g, so it's a lightweight that you can easily carry in your backpack.

The fabric is like a dense net and therefore not completely opaque, as light shines through.

Putting on the Python Assaulter Ghillie G1 is quite simple. Put on the hood, thread your arms through, and close the Canadian button at the front.

Thanks to the size of the button, it is quite easy to do it even with gloves. We failed with mittens.

Now there is a button under each arm to finally secure the PHANTOMLEAF Python Assaulter Ghillie G1 to yourself.

This is how the camo cape from PHANTOMLEAF looks when finally put on. The silhouette breakup works very well with the right background already. The ghillie reaches up to the chest at the front and down to the buttocks at the back. This way, your upper body is well camouflaged.

To maintain the camouflage effect, you won't find any long, straight edges, everything is wavy. If you want more structure, there are separate G1 leaf imitations, made from the same fabric, laser cut and can be attached to the camo cape to achieve more camouflage effect.

The hood is adjusted to your head with two drawstrings. A helmet also fits underneath.

With gloves, operating these drawstrings is a bit tricky, but it works.

The camouflage effect of WASP II Z3b is always impressive. In the photo, you can see our test subject crouching at a distance of 10 meters, and at first glance, it is not immediately clear whether it is a person or a snow-covered tarpaulin. In front of a white, textured wall with snow on the ground and in the leaves above, the camouflage effect is even better.
