This is not exactly new, what we are presenting to you today. But it is important. Because the Rails from Ops-Core have essentially initiated a helmet revolution. With them, the head protection has become a system that benefits the man wearing it. Camera, light, various masks - everything can be easily and quickly mounted and removed.
It all started with this Rail Set: two Rails, suitable for the ACH/MICH - but not for the MICH2001 version. In addition, a set of screws in the bag, two Wing-Locs (front right, with "wings") and a Rail adapter, both as mounting aids for the Rails. And bungees, flexible cords that come out of the Rail at the front and secure the night vision device with hooks.
Installation is quick and easy: remove old screws, loosen harness. The new screws are slightly longer, as now the thickness of the ARCs is added to the helmet thickness.
Tighten it all. That's it. The original Rails have a logo on the Rail itself, which is missing on the replicas.
CONCLUSION: The Rails are a lightweight upgrade for any MICH and nowadays almost a standard. They are also available in Chinese replicas, which are usable on average. We have also heard of clone Rails being used by special forces in serious operations. On average, the fit with adapters is better with the genuine ones, however.
The Ops-Core ACH-ARC Kit and Bungees costs $83 directly from the manufacturer. It is available in Tan, Olive, and Black.
