REVIEW: Novritsch 3D Ghillie Suit

We like to dress up as a tree or bush to evade unwanted glances. Everyone has their fetishes ... What could be better for this than a Ghillie Suit? Right, one that is very usable straight out of the box. One such model is the 3D Ghillie from NOVRITSCH. See for yourself.

Right in the middle of the street is a bush. Don't let the lack of camouflage deceive you, we specifically placed ourselves here so you wouldn't see anything else.

The back is also very bushy. Clearly, the 3D Ghillie Suit does a good job at concealing the silhouette. We deliberately did not add additional camouflage. But now, let's get to the details.

The Material

The camouflage pattern used is called Amber, and the colors have been specially adapted to the vegetation in Europe and North America. Leaves are sewn all over the 3D Ghillie, with special attention paid to avoiding straight lines. This has been done very well, in our opinion.

Depending on the sunlight and surroundings, the pattern may appear more brown or more green. But it usually blends very well into the vegetation.

The base material is a sturdy mesh fabric. So far, it has withstood the demands well and is very airy. We had temperatures almost reaching 30°C, and a pleasant breeze could be felt through the mesh material.

To perfect the camouflage, you will find fixed elastic loops all over the Ghillie. You can attach additional camouflage material to these loops as needed.

The complete 3D Ghillie Suit fits into a 3Day Assault Pack. In the image, you can see the High Ground Gear BANG Pack. The main compartment is about half filled with some compression. We would estimate it to be around 10 to 12 liters in volume.

The Pants

Let's start with the pants. This is what the pants of the 3D Ghillie Suit look like. They are designed as overpants.

Thanks to the elastic hem, you don't have to take off your boots when putting on the pants.

A noticeable camouflage effect is instantly noticeable.

The pants completely put on. The jeans are no longer visible, and we already feel closer to nature. At the front, the pants offer you a professional entry to the fly.

In the back view, nothing special. You can see nicely the basic pattern of the mesh fabric. If you look closely, you can also see that the rubber loops are very thoughtfully placed. Always lovely and extremely efficient: the small leaves.

On the sides you will find pass-through pockets. Practical for an overpant, so the material in the actual pants is always within easy reach.

The waistband is also elastic and can be tightened with a drawstring. Currently, the NOVRITSCH 3D Ghillie is only available in one size, which is approximately EU Large.

Elastic, adjustable suspenders do what they are supposed to do. They do it very well, by the way, without any noticeable pressure points because they are pleasantly wide.

The Jacket

Just camouflaging the legs is usually not very promising, so it's better to also camouflage the torso. For this purpose, there is the 3D Ghillie Jacket from NOVRITSCH.

The jacket is designed without a hood, but this can be purchased separately. In the picture, the hood is already attached, but more on that later.

The interior of the 3D Ghillie Jacket is unspectacular. Only one side is printed, the outer side.

The jacket is closed with snaps. At first, we were skeptical, but they hold on very well.

Pants, jacket, and hat on the man. We introduced the 3D Ghillie Boonie HERE. The camouflage effect of the set already convinces us.

A nicely solved detail on the 3D Ghillie Jacket is the sleeve closure. With an elastic band, a thumb loop is created so that the sleeve doesn't ride up.

The back of the hand is extended, covering your hand up to your fingers. A simple but very effective way to camouflage the hand.

From the hem to just above hip height, you will find a Velcro strip covered with camouflage leaves. There are two of these strips in total. At first, we weren't sure what the purpose of this velcro is.

But after a short investigation, we figured it out. These Velcro strips are used to secure your combat belt. At least if the inside of the belt has hook and loop fastener. NOVRITSCH is currently working on a matching camouflaged combat belt. A really exciting idea.

The Hood

For those who don't want to wear a camouflage hat but prefer a hood, there is one available. The hood is attached to the jacket with snaps. The hood is sized so that you can wear a helmet underneath.

The head shape is very well concealed thanks to the hood, as expected from a ghillie suit.

Two elastic bands at the back ensure a perfect fit.

And at the front, two elastic bands adjust the opening. Here, the cords are a bit too long, and you should cut them to a practical length for you.

The lacing forms a very good and comfortable hood shape. The material makes minimal rustling noise and allows you to hear surrounding sounds very well. Thanks to the generous use of 3D camouflage leaves, you also achieve a very high level of camouflage.

There are also some rubber loops on the hood for additional camouflage material. But now let's take a look at the "out of the box" camouflage effect.

The Camouflage Effect

"A little figure stands in the forest, very quiet and mute." If our faces were camouflaged, you wouldn't easily spot us. We are very impressed by the camouflage performance of the NOVRITSCH 3D Ghillie Suits.

In the dense green of the forest, the 3D Ghillie Suit shows its strengths. As mentioned, we didn't make an effort and didn't use any additional camouflage. The result is very impressive.

The suit also performs well in movement.

Now a somewhat tricky search image.

So you don't get frustrated, here's the solution. Quite usable, isn't it? Very nicely, you can see from the picture how revealing an unpainted face and white fingers can be.

Of course, the 3D Ghillie Suit cannot work magic. If you choose the wrong background, even the best camouflage pattern won't help. In this case, it's not the Ghillie's fault.

A quick pantomime guessing game: What are we? Correct, a tree. With the help of the 3D Ghillie Suits, we can represent this even better.

CONCLUSION: The 3D Ghillie Suit has impressed us very positively. Although this is an "Airsoft" product, this Ghillie suit is on par with high-priced camouflage suits. However, the 3D Ghillie Suit does not include IR camouflage against night vision devices, just so you don't wonder. Thanks to the airy mesh construction, the 3D Ghillie Suit is comfortable to wear even in high temperatures, and with additional camouflage and proper application, you are almost impossible to detect.
