REVIEW: Mori Summer IR Patches

If you want to know where you belong, you can pin flags on your sleeve. Functionally, it is even more practical to see, because the flags can be used as recognition signs. And not just during the day: IR patches glow at night when illuminated with infrared light, making it easier to distinguish friend from foe. The Hong Kong-based patch manufacturer Mori Summer (MS Patches) offers an extremely attractive and affordable solution here.

You can choose between classic US flag patches (non-reversed/reversed), the coveted "Don't Tread On Me" (DTOM) patches, PJ, JTAC, CCT patches as well as blood type patches (large/small) and callsign patches (normal/reversible). Once you have found your favorite type of patch, it is now possible to order them in Multicam, AOR1, AOR2, Woodland, Foliage Green, or even in Kryptek Mandrake. On request, other camos can also be made. All patches are priced around $13, which we consider to be very affordable. Production usually takes 1-2 weeks, and another week later you will have the patches in your mailbox.

The size corresponds to the original with 3.5"x2.25". The seams also make a very neat impression on us, and the 500D Cordura, from which the patches are made, feels high quality. The Velcro is also well cut and securely attached to the patch. The only minor criticism is the very outer edge of the patch, where the Velcro/patch connection is not 100% guaranteed, but this does not detract from the function and aesthetics.

The various camo patterns are, in our opinion, really good and practically indistinguishable from the original. Now the exciting part with the question about the IR material - YES, it is really genuine functional material! But the white material also impresses with its workmanship, and the great thing is - the reflection is only present when it is illuminated with IR light - NO glow in normal light!

CONCLUSION: Great patches with lots of choices and custom options at really good prices. What impressed us the most was the good workmanship and the functional IR feature.
