REVIEW: MED PLATE 3.0 by AUSSIE PEELBACK INC.

The IFAK is a compact and essential kit of life-saving medical items. This necessary equipment is usually stored in a designated and marked IFAK bag. These IFAK bags are available in various sizes and configurations. The Canadian company AUSSIE PEELBACK INC has developed and improved the Medical Equipment Deployment Plate, known as MED Plate. The MED Plate is an individual first aid kit that fits into a protective vest, behind ballistic plates, in the back of a vehicle seat, or in the back of a backpack.

Equipment

The scope of delivery includes a 280 mm x 215 mm large MED Plate® 3.0 with a nylon band and a glow-in-the-dark/reflective MED Patch. On one side for the IFAK, there are five hook-and-loop bands attached. The first aid material of your choice is then attached to these bands.

The side with the 9-liner, MARCH, and ATMIST imprint is equipped with two hook-and-loop bands.

The scope of delivery includes two non-adhesive Velcro strips, eight large and two small circles made of industrial Velcro tape, plus two 13 cm long Velcro OneWrap Gear Retainers (for holding items that should not be attached with Velcro, such as an NPA tube or a decompression needle).

Application

These Velcro surfaces are adhered to the equipment.

Subsequently, the equipment is fixed to the existing Velcro strips.

Don't waste anything, even the back is to be used. The Velcro strips on the back are suitable for name patches, blood type, etc.

The MED Plate® 3.0 is inserted into the plate carrier.

This kit is compatible with plate carrier vests that can accommodate SAPI, shooter, and swimmer plates.

Use

A strong pull on the nylon band opens the plate carrier at the bottom.

Pull on the band further and the MED Plate® 3.0 is pulled out.

The complete IFAK falls practically, clearly and ready for use into your hands.

We have equipped the MED Plate® 3.0 with various configurations and managed to maintain the flat design. At first, it was quite unfamiliar and required some practice to get the MED Plate® 3.0 out of the plate carrier with one hand. As with all equipment, practice makes perfect.
