First aid is important when you need it. It should otherwise be inconspicuous and not be a burden. The Mayflower Low-Vis Blow-Out Kit (LVBOK) is a pragmatic solution. It has a great pack size and is quick to draw. Let's take a look at it for you.
We see the mounting system on the back. Mayflower uses Helium Whisper, which is the laser-cut MOLLE laminate system that holds well and is not bulky.
This is the cover for the LVBOK. The whole thing is called "clamshell design". On the back is the MOLLE, with reinforced side walls at the top and bottom, and the exterior is made of flexible 4-way stretch fabric. All in user-friendly Multicam.
This is the crisp filling for the juicy cover. A pouch that seems pretty average.
On the back, the hook-and-loop area is noticeable (it has its counterpart in the cover) and there are two handles here.
They only have one function: to quickly pull out the IFAK bag when an emergency arises.
Then loosen the zipper all around: and everything is open. The strings on the left are part of the pull system, which can be easily adjusted in length with knots as needed. And there are also two straps to keep things in place.
IFAKs are tricky: most manufacturers want to store everything in as little space as possible. The LVBOK is different here: a complete kit fits easily and without cramming. Those who want to store additional bandaging material may have a problem here. But IFAK with everything alone is great.
Looks thick. But no problem for the LVBOK.
Zip it up and now everything is a compact, octagonal bag.
Then simply slide it into the corresponding cover.
The only challenge is the small Velcro square that holds everything in place. Insert your fingers from the other side between the Velcro until everything is in place, LVBOK is ready.
Since the outside is made of stretchy material, the whole thing is very handy.
The compact result looks like this.
And this is what it looks like when we place it on our War Belt in the center back.
The LVBOK looks much larger in the photo than it feels when worn.
