Being exposed to fire or high heat is usually not fun. Even less pleasant is wearing things that easily catch fire or melt. Since many stretch fabrics unfortunately have these two properties, Combat Shirts are also available in flame-resistant versions. Today, we at SPARTANAT are introducing you to the model by Massif.
The basic structure is no different from other Combat Shirts: a pocketless stretch is worn on the torso, allowing a protective vest to be worn without any problems, while the arms are made of normal camouflage fabric. The Massif Shirt fits snugly, but it does not have muscle-supporting properties. The seams are very flat, which also adds to the comfort of wearing it.
Unlike most competitors, the Army Combat Shirt also has camouflage colors on the sides of the torso. The Velcro on the upper arms is tailored to the US Army, with the right side displaying name, rank & flag, while the left side shows the unit. Additionally, there is an attached pocket for pens on the left forearm.
While many Combat Shirt manufacturers provide heavy-duty elbow pads, Massif has chosen a different approach. The elbows are lightly padded and reinforced with abrasion-resistant, non-slip material. We like this a lot because it does not restrict mobility and still provides some padding.
CONCLUSION: The Army Combat Shirt by Massif is one of the best, if not the best, Combat Shirt we have worn so far. It fits well without cutting in. The elbow protection is also better than usual. We have not noticed any defects in the workmanship. The only downside is that the shirt is only available in regular length, so the sleeves may not fit perfectly on some people.
While paying over USD 180 for the ACS at Massif itself, there are offers on eBay for around USD 50 (excluding shipping). There are also other versions of Combat Shirts from Massif available in different colors or camouflage patterns.
