REVIEW: Dytac M18 Smoke Grenade Dummy

02/01/2012By Redaktion

Dummies make the gear look better, especially when it comes to grenades. Dytac has now released their series of M18 Smoke Grenade replicas on the market. We took a look at them for you.

These dummies are not - as is often the case - BB containers, but truly just dummies. It's nice that now not only red and yellow are available, but also white, green, and violet. So the uniformity comes to an end. The bodies of the grenades are made of PVC, which could have been a bit thicker. It really pays off to fill these dummies with foam, as they are very stable afterwards.

There is a seam line running across the entire "grenade". It is hardly noticeable on the body, but unfortunately very visible on the top and bottom. The lever and safety pin are made of metal. Apart from the labeling, there are no markings on the dummy. The overall quality is good. The weight of the grenades without foam is only 57g, with foam it's 70g.

Conclusion: A good, affordable dummy that delivers what it promises: to look good. An essential accessory for all CCTs or JTACs.

Available at Toy Soldier for $9.50 each excluding shipping costs
