Fighters of the world need backpacks to carry all their "stuff" into the field. You can never have enough equipment. However, as military forces increasingly wear body armor, a special problem arises: carrying a plate carrier, weapon belt, and backpack is far from optimal, and quick, tangle-free removal of the equipment is not so easy. The guys from Lindnerhof Taktik have taken on this problem and the result is the H1 backpack that we want to introduce to you today.
This is what the 10l backpack looks like with little content. All the straps intended for adjustment are really long, so the backpack should fit easily even on the biggest among us. By the way, the H1 weighs around 700g empty, depending on the strapping. This relatively low weight is achieved thanks to a mix of laser-cut hybrid laminate and 500D Cordura.
At the back, you can attach the padding of the plate carriers, making it feel almost as soft as a handkerchief against your back.
At the front is a Beavertail compartment with Shockcord, that is, round rubber cord, attached. The beaver tail offers you - thanks to two side zippers - an additional storage compartment. It measures approximately 30×25 cm and is very flat. The magic, however, is the attachment with Shockcord. The helmet fits in here, if not worn on the head. And other large, bulky stuff.
Inside, you will find a 10 cm wide and 20 cm long Velcro area for, e.g. interior organization elements. This allows small stuff to be stored within reach.
If you don't need the Beavertail, you can easily unbuckle it. Undo the knots and pull out the rubber cord. Make sure not to lose all the small toggles, it's best to store them all in the bag itself. That's what it's for too.
Without the additional compartment, the H1 backpack is even slimmer. The main body measures approximately 40 x 30 x 8 cm and is made of the hybrid laminate mentioned above. It offers you a fabulous 6×13 laser-cut MOLLE loops, more than enough space for additional pouches.
The interior is nicely spartan: a division and on the back plate, there are straps so that SAPI plates ranging from size S to XL can be securely attached.
This is quite self-explanatory and works flawlessly. This way, you can make your back bulletproof. However, this is mainly intended to use the H1 backpack in combination with the plate carrier HL - HERE in the SPARTANAT review on our site - and the plate carrier L1. However, all these adaptations of the carrying system are not intended for field conversion, but for you to do it in peace.
To use the H1 backpack in place of the back plate of the plate carrier, you need the shoulder straps and the cumberbund of the plate carrier, along with the included adapters. In the video, we show you this very clearly and with moving images - you can watch it HERE on our YouTube Channel.
After a few minutes of threading and adjusting, you will have made it. This is how the backpack should look so that you can wear it in conjunction with the plate carrier. The cumberbund is built-in, the shoulder straps are waiting to be put to use. The interfaces to the plate carrier are the in-house quick releases, whose counterparts are on the PC.
And this is how it looks on a person. Yes, we haven't set up the setup here quite optimally. The backpack with the SAPI would be too low at the back. Also visible are the side 2×5 MOLLE loops. On the underside of the backpack, there are also 2×9 MOLLE loops.
In addition to the previously shown carrying options and the obvious one with classic shoulder straps, the H1 backpack offers a special feature: it can be directly connected to the plate carrier without turning into a Gordian knot. Only the shoulder straps need to be exchanged.
And four Fastex buckles need to be attached to the plate carrier. It's not a big deal either. Two on the shoulder straps, ...
