Field shoes are a matter of trust. While pure leather is still being used with us, others have already discovered the material mix. Instead of lightweight field shoes, the LALO Shadow Intruder in the eight-inch, high shaft version, a so-called "technical" shoe.
The good piece as a whole. The color here is Ranger Green, which is a bit greener than the classic Ranger Green that we usually know. Black and Coyote are also available in appealing colors. With a US size 10, the boots weigh about 700 grams.
In this version of the shoe, the high shaft is the noticeable distinction. The other Shadow Intruder is 5" high - we reviewed it HERE on SPARTANAT Review. The shoe has a body made of leather, with ripstop fabric visible in the "windows."
This is called the KPU grill on the Shadow Intruder here. Don't worry, nothing is grilled here. It was developed to keep out dirt while ensuring breathability.
The toes are only as well-protected as the advance: between the sole and upper shoe, there is a wide layer of abrasion-resistant toe cap made of carbonized rubber.
Also very grippy from the front: the grooves provide grip during ascent.
And disappears into terrain beneath the material that takes it along.
LALO advertises with its "Stealth Approach Technology." The sole has a multi-density EVA cushioning for impact absorption and toe propulsion.
In addition, there is an articulating heel and outsole shape for a smooth, stealthy approach. And the LALO logo.
On the underside, the non-squeaking, non-slip, injection-molded rubber outsole.
She has proven to be reliable in the field for us. The Shadow Intruder is super comfortable to wear from the sole up.
From above, you can see how well padded the shaft is. The Shadow Intruder is a comfortable companion that you can wear for a long time.
The high shaft version is great in terms of fit, but not quite easy to slip into. The rubberized eyelets contribute to this. Advantage: there are no hooks that can get caught on anything.
If you want to slip in, you have to thread apart at the top of the shaft as much as possible.
Tightly tied, the shaft looks slim again and gives the foot excellent support.
The laces can be stored directly in the loop.
The LALO Shadow Intruder cuts a slim figure in the field.
He likes rural grass just as much as urban concrete.
Feels at home in the autumn forest. Proves itself just as well in the spring.
It's not a laminated shoe, but the leather keeps water out well.
At least the moss is greener...
CONCLUSION: The Shadow Intruder is a technical shoe that has proven itself. The high shaft is a bit annoying to lace up, but it guarantees a secure fit. Overall, the LALO Shadow Intruder is extremely comfortable and pleasant to wear. Whether for military, police, or hunting purposes, this shoe makes sense and is enjoyable to wear. The Norwegian Army has introduced it as a service shoe, and they must know what can withstand heavy use.
