Comparison of SATC Spartan GPNVG18 dummy with original L-3 GPNVG18 and FMA GPNVG18 dummy. Detailing size and quality differences. SATC replica is detailed but smaller, contrasting with FMA. Regular version lacks in material quality. Further improvements and original L-3 GPNVG18 review to follow.
We showed you last week how the first copy of the L-3 GPNVG18 compares to the original. Now we're back in the loop and want to take a look at the competition, which as we know, enlivens life. In the image above, on the left you can see the SATC Spartan (not related to us) GPNVG18 dummy, next to it on the right is the original L-3 GPNVG18, and in the back on the right is the FMA GPNVG18 dummy (see the review HERE). SPARTANAT will show you again what fits and what doesn't.
They lie peacefully side by side: the original on the right, the SATC replica on the left. At first glance, it looks quite satisfying. You have to look closely to see that the size is not quite right. It's noticeable with the battery packs.
Dummy vs Original: we couldn't have made a quick decision there. The size comparison is difficult due to the perspective. But what you can see very well in the photos is that the details were extremely well and lovingly reproduced.
View from below: the QR codes were beautifully replicated, just like the original, as plastic sheets. Overall, a very nice and detailed sight.
View of the field of vision. Very convincingly reconstructed, although here you can see that the replica is a bit too small.
Seen from the front, the area of the lenses is slightly too large, a problem we also know from the other replica.
The battery packs compared. Here too, the size difference is noticeable, as well as a great reconstruction based on photos.
CONCLUSION: The SATC Spartan replica is beautiful, detailed, and overall successful. But there are two replicas from the same company: the regular one (pictured here) and the deluxe version. One is very good, the other one perfect. If it weren't for the size. The device turned out to be too small, contrasting with FMA, which are too big. The regular version also has a plastic material, which is okay but not great in terms of color. The somewhat slender appearance almost makes you believe it's "Asia sizing".
HERE is the SPARTANAT review of the SATC GPNVG18 dummy.
The SATC GPNVG18 Dummy is available at J.K. Army for $40.20 (excluding shipping). For improvement, there is a lens set for $17.50.
TO BE CONTINUED: Next week SPARTANAT will present not replicas, but the review of the original L-3 GPNVG18.
Just for reference: the two replicas compared, the huge one is FMA, the small one is SATC.
