REVIEW: Krypteia Knives Griffin Tanto

We like it simple, that's a known fact. As Spartans, we may even have a preference for the (ancient) Greek influence on our culture. At Krypteia Knives Griffin Tanto, exclusively available in Germany at G-Gear, both of these come together: a simple, sturdy blade made by Evangelos from Krypteia, a true Hellene who found himself in the land of fire and ice, Iceland.

The Griffin Tanto measures just below the magical German limit of twelve centimeters blade length. It feels good in hand with its roughly shaped G10 handle scales, available in different colors. The style leans towards "modern primitives". The blade itself is also available in Acid Black, with newer models having a Cerakote coating.

You can see that the blade is slightly oily. The Griffin Tanto needs regular maintenance. The tool steel used is durable, but prone to rust. If you love your knife, clean and lubricate it. At the end of the tang - without much risk of getting wet - there is a small glass breaker for a quick hit against fragile objects.

The Krypteia Knives Griffin Tanto comes with a Spartan Kydex sheath that allows you to choose a mounting option. Paracord works, as well as a versatile Tek-Lok that can be attached.
