It has been seen in many pictures - if it has been seen at all. After all, it is as small as a hearing aid... The first review was written by Silentpro. What looks like a hearing aid at first glance is actually nothing but a wireless headset. The Invisio headsets were first seen in the pictures of the SEALs from OP Redwing 2005 in Afghanistan. SPARTANAT now presents the M3s from Invisio in a review.
What makes the M3s from Invisio exciting is its size and functionality: The headset is a microphone and earpiece in one. The bone conduction microphone picks up sound that is transmitted through the jawbone while speaking ("Bone Conduction Technology" as it is called in English). This allows for clear communication while transmitting even in noisy environments.
Another advantage is the mentioned size. The headset fits completely into the ear cup, discreet like a hearing aid, allowing comfortable wearing of helmets and other headgear. We tested it ourselves for a day and it is still comfortable to wear in the ear even after long periods. The hearing on the ear where the M3s is placed is only slightly hindered, similar to an earbud from an MP3 player.
The M3s can be connected to a variety of PTTs. Invisio provides the headset with the desired configuration. You can choose the color, cable length, and type. Here is an Invisio M3s for the right side with a cable length of 1,200 mm and in the sub-version.
CONCLUSION: If you are looking for a headset for a Navy SEALs reenactment, the usual choices are MSA Sordin, Peltor Comtac, or a TASC-1. However, Invisio surpasses the rest in terms of quality, comfort, and clear communication. The price is definitely not for the budget-conscious. You can start considering a headset at around €350. For that price, you get one of the best and currently one of the rarest headsets used by the Navy SEALs.
