REVIEW: IMI-Z1140-Polymer Holster for HK USP

The IMI Defense holster is a polymer form-fit holster in the mid-price range. This holster is the Roto variant for the Heckler & Koch P8 or USP Full-Size 9mm/.40, which Andreas has reviewed for you.

The holster comes with a paddle, which allows it to be worn on the belt (width up to about 55mm) or directly on the waistband. Two retention hooks prevent the holster from coming off the waistband/belt when drawing the pistol. The holster was tested here with a blank firing gun "Röhm RG96" (USP).

The pistol smoothly slides in and out of the holster and audibly clicks into place. Concealed carry is also possible with this holster, as it sits close to the waistband and therefore the body of the wearer.

The weapon is unlocked by a thumb lever. The release button is positioned for quick draw, directing the trigger finger straight to the trigger.

Like Blackhawk, IMI holsters also have a wide range of accessories available, including thigh platforms, mid-ride adapters, and MOLLE adapters.

The holster comes in a clear plastic bag with a zip. There is no included description or manual (although not necessary).

To adjust the holster angle, the thumb lever must be removed. Simply push a pin out to access the Allen screw through the resulting "hole" in the holster. The angle can be finely adjusted using the toothed paddle and its counterpart on the holster.

The ability to rotate the holster 360 degrees offers various positioning options on the hip. Standard on the right side, on the left side in a relatively slanted position (Cross Draw), or on the back (Back Draw).

CONCLUSION: The IMI holster impresses with its quality and affordable price. The variety of available accessories caters to a wide range of users, making it a good choice for various applications.
