REVIEW: Hera Arms Range Bag

Who goes to the shooting range brings a lot of equipment with them. Whether it's a pistol or a rifle, there is plenty to pack. HERA ARMS want to help you with organized packing, which is why they offer this Range Bag. Let's take a closer look at it in this review.

On the HERA ARMS website, there is no size indication or information on its pack volume. We measured it and found it to be about 51 centimeters in width, 30 centimeters in depth, and 26 centimeters in height. The empty weight of the Range Bag is about 1,500 grams.

But we all know: the bag is just a means to an end. Here's a look inside our HERA Range Bag, well stocked with personal equipment for pistol training at the shooting range.

This is how HERA ARMS envisions it, of course they are also long gun users. Naturally, the bag can also be used to conveniently store rifle magazines and AR15 accessories.

Let's take a walk around the bag together: here is the front side that was already shown. Two zip closures provide access and there is a large Velcro area. HERA Patch, SPARTANAT Patch, and we wish you all that your skills are not just based on gear. And if they are: better than nothing.

In addition to the main compartment in the middle, there are various pockets all around. Here on the left side there is even a casing bag, along with another outer pocket.

We admit, we like to use the casing bag as a water bottle holder. 0.5 liters of water fits perfectly. The opening can be tightened with a rubber drawstring.

Next to it, with a Velcro cover, is another pocket that can hold about two pistol magazines. Or Snickers, so you don't get cranky at the range.

The actual left side pocket, on the other hand, can be completely opened with a zip closure and offers a lot of space. Here we have stored the Dummy Rounds and our shooting plasters. Just in case we hurt the target...

There it is again, the outermost compartment. Here, as shooters, we store the necessary documents, such as a shooting book. So they are quickly within reach.

Inside, our equipment is attractively and well organized. This compartment can be completely unfolded and has six elastic slots. Lined up and good for pistol magazines.

Behind that, another thin compartment, ideal for additional documents or pens.

We like to use the surface created by unfolding as a "staging area". Here, the shooter has everything in view and in order when he wants to calmly fill his magazines.

On the right side, there is another large pocket, but it can only be opened at the top. We like to store a holster, shooting glasses, or other items here that should be quickly accessible without having to go into the main compartment.

There it is, the main compartment just mentioned, well-filled (see image at the top). The main compartment also has a lock zipper so the owner can secure the contents with a lock. We do it too, clearly visible here because it's orange.

If you want, you can also stand by your name. The shooter can insert his business card into the small window on the lid to avoid confusion. After all, you are not the only one with a black bag at the range, although not all are as beautiful and practical as ours.

Here is the main compartment again, which is approximately 37 centimeters long, 26 centimeters wide, and deep. As you can already see, the range bag comes with two dividing elements that can be adjusted with Velcro. This way, the shooter can divide the interior space as needed.

This is what it usually looks like during shooting. The ammunition is securely held and transported inside, while the magazines are kept on the outside. The zip closures are not YKK classics, and do not specify the manufacturer.

In this company, we play a crucial role: What must not be missing for comfortable transport is a good shoulder strap. Adjustable in length, padded.

Hooked on the side, it can also rotate freely. If you don't need it, you can detach the carrying strap and store it in the bag.

The straps can also be packed together. When you grab here, the bag with your favorite equipment fits well in your hand.

Here is its home: the bag is simply stored in the box, where it has just the right space for us. However, it still looks good and is always ready to go.

For completeness, here is the back. No bag on the bag for once.

Now to the end, therefore - last but not least - the underside. Rubber feet protect against slipping. Also noticeable is that there are no drain eyelets, such as with a brass catcher bag.

Here it is in use. Everything you need for a good day of outdoor sports.

CONCLUSION: The price is 89 euros for the bag and you get many options to store your things. For us, the bag is much more practical than a backpack at the range.
