REVIEW: Helikon-Tex Urban Tactical Shorts 11"

The days are longer, the shoes lighter, and the caps provide shade. It's high time to drop the pant legs. Well, back in the day, you had to cut your trousers. At Helikon-Tex, you get the Urban Tactical Shorts 11“, everything is exactly how the wearer wants it for the hot summer. The UTS is basically the short version of the Urban Tactical line from Helikon-Tex. Here is the front view.Back side, which we will go into detail later.And the side view, where you can already see the pocket configuration well. We particularly love these: because the most important urban tool is always ready to use.One generous pocket on each side for the phone (iPhone fits, LG G6 with case also fits) and assuming the network is good, you always have communication. The shorts themselves have a zipper and close at the top with velcro.A normal BDU Belt is always a good thing (by the way, the one from BE-X has a plastic buckle, practical for air travel because you don't have to take it off every time you go through the scanner). The pocket layout on the UTS is the same as on the other Urban Tactical Pants (HERE in the review).The slightly slanted thigh pocket is basically an extension of the phone pocket and easily within reach of the hands. But it's the overall configuration of the UTS that we like so much.We tactical lifestyle enthusiasts are easily recognized by the fact that we carry a pocket knife with us. The front pocket is therefore reinforced at the edge so that it doesn't wear out from the knife clip.In the back pocket, there is even a separate compartment for the pocket knife. Pens fit here too. Due to its location on the butt cheek, it's not obvious at all that the wearer has something tucked in there.In the back, the UTS has two large back pockets that can easily accommodate your wallet. There is no additional velcro closure present, but it's not needed. You can clearly see the depth of the pockets.Fire alert! But don't worry, due to the fabric blend, fire or sparks are not a serious threat, and you don't have to cowardly stay away from a campfire. The UTS is not straight cut at the bottom, but interestingly has a bend, so that it is slightly longer in the front, practical when sitting, where other shorts tend to constrict.

VERDICT: Great summer shorts for the time when men prefer to wear shorts. Very lightweight fabric, ideal configuration, great price. Exactly what a man wishes for the summer.
