"Don't turn around, the gray man is walking around" - or something like that. The evil, black man is easy to recognize, the gray man is much harder to spot, as he blends in so perfectly with the crowd. Do you want to be a gray man too? Helikon-Tex has just the right pants for you, the Greyman Tactical Jeans. We took a close look at them.
Here are the Greyman Tactical Jeans in all their unassuming glory. At first glance, just a regular blue pair of jeans. Only the insert pockets might seem a bit unusual. Want to be professionally inconspicuous? Be the gray man - HERE's the SPARTANAT Grey Man Guide
Also very inconspicuous from behind. The pants are wide-cut, but ours are intentionally a bit too big, more on that later.
The material of the pants is a blend of 69% cotton, 27% polyester, 3% rayon, 1% elastane, making it very light and stretchy. So far, the Greyman Tactical Jeans have held their shape well, even after multiple washes.
Upon closer inspection, you'll notice all the side pockets on the Greyman Tactical Jeans. There are a total of nine pockets.
Here we have the classic hip pockets, which are very deep. The insert pockets below are already visible.
Smartphones and magazines fit easily in the insert pockets. Even a small flashlight can fit next to the magazine. The pocket is a bit too deep for pistol magazines, as they disappear completely inside. If you want it differently, you'll have to do some sewing (or have it done).
On the right, you'll find the classic pocket watch pocket. This is the only pocket on the Greyman Tactical Jeans that is not present on both sides.
The last two pockets that are missing are actually one large pocket with divisions. The back pocket on the Greyman Tactical Jeans is very large and divided.
This gives you a compartment on the side where magazines fit perfectly. Wallets and phones also want to be carried here. The Greyman Tactical Jeans is equipped with wide belt loops that can accommodate belts up to 50 mm wide.
The pant legs are straight cut without any frills. That's how we like it.
The Greyman Tactical Jeans closes with velcro and a zipper at the fly.
We took the pants in Large Regular, which corresponds to W34 L32 in jeans size. Unfortunately, our model wears W33, so a few adjustments had to be made to reduce the waist size, resulting in the pants not fitting properly. Next time we will get the Greyman Tactical Jeans in Medium Regular, which is W32, but thanks to the stretch, it should fit better and look better on the man.
Everything fits in the crotch. Thanks to the crotch cut and double fabric, you have excellent freedom of movement, which is sometimes lacking in ordinary jeans.
CONCLUSION: The Greyman Tactical Jeans has more than convinced us. Solid craftsmanship, plenty of pockets, and discreet, what more could you want? Of course, an appealing price, which the Greyman Tactical Jeans also offers you. Our new everyday pants for the urban jungle.
The Greyman Tactical Jeans is available from 52.90 euros. We recommend retailers that carry Helikon-Tex, such as CAMOSTORE or TACOPSGEAR.
