REVIEW: HEAT 3 Smart Glove

Not only women can have cold fingers all winter. Also men. When we share this surprising truth with you, we have to say: It's better with the right gloves, as they protect against snow and ice and keep the hand functional. SPARTANAT took a look at the 3 SMART from HEAT and wanted to know if we can get through the winter with them. At first glance, these are very compact contemporaries. And like any sensible and good glove, designed for extreme conditions, the HEAT 3 SMART has the shape of a mitten. When the fingers are together, they are most comfortable and warm.

If that's not enough: there is a zipper on the back of the hand that opens a slot in which a chemical hand warmer (also from HEAT) can be inserted. But you could also insert a ski pass. The silver button is the counterpart to a button at the beginning of the glove ...

Mittens have the impractical problem that all the fingers are inside: with the HEAT, the palm, held in fine goatskin, can be unzipped (left). The front half of the glove is then clipped back (right).

The fingers come out in an inner microfleece glove, which fits tightly. Protected and yet great for gripping. The plus with this model: there are special areas on the index finger and thumb that allow you to operate a smartphone (now you don't need to carry a snack sausage for this).

So that the glove doesn't get lost, there is a forearm safety strap. When taken off, it hangs securely on the arm. There is also a small carabiner with which both gloves can be attached together. The HEAT can be tightened at wrist height and at the end of the cuff, so that no snow can penetrate and the warmth is better retained.

CONCLUSION: The HEAT 3 SMART is a magnificent companion through the cold season. Super warm as a mitten and yet grippy as a finger glove, it combines the best of both worlds and is also smartphone-friendly. Proud price, but excellent workmanship with a clever concept. For us: THE glove for the outdoor winter.
