There are many knives, especially for EDC. But let's be honest, most of the time what you need an EDC knife for in everyday life is to open a letter or a package. For that, a simple, inexpensive knife is sufficient. This is where the EB Lite from Gerber comes into play.
This folding carpet knife comes not from the tactical, but from the industrial line of Gerber. The blade is a standard carpet cutter blade that can be bought at any hardware store. If it ever gets dull: don't sharpen it, just replace it.
Here for size comparison with the excellent Pohlforce Bravo 1. Very small but fine. It is also lightweight, weighing only 65 g. It fits perfectly in the small pocket of jeans and looks very socially acceptable.
The replaceable blade is secured in the swivel arm by a slotted screw. The blade is held in a classic manner with a liner lock.
Conclusion: A small, fine and light knife for those who like to quickly open their packages. The processing looks a bit cheap in places (casting burrs) but overall the Gerber EAB Lite has a very good price-performance ratio.
Available on Amazon for as low as €17.5.
