REVIEW: FMA MOLLE Mobile Pouch for iPhone 5

Communication is a weapon. And smartphones are miraculous devices that have great tactical utility. Just think about compass, GPS, Ballistic Calculator, and Angry Birds ... But in doing so, you should always have your phone with you and of course it should be protected. The MOLLE Mobile Pouch for the Apple iPhone 5 is a wonderful example of how a modern phone becomes part of the equipment.

The pouch is actually more of a case, the back part is meant to be inserted into the MOLLE loops of the armor. In front of the joint, you can see an iPhone 5 that has already been inserted. The top part of the front of the case is folded down and snapped shut, and the iPhone is now integrated into the equipment.

Above in the picture you can see the application: Where an admin panel is usually mounted, the MOLLE Mobile Pouch is now hanging. It is closed at the top with shock cord, and there is even Velcro on the front for attaching patches.

In use: You can see the looped MOLLE attachment nicely. The phone is folded down and can be operated with fingers. All essential openings of the smartphone are freely accessible. The volume can be adjusted as well as a headset can be plugged in. It is interesting that the iPhone can of course also be connected to a PTT, which can be used not only with radios, but also with phones (e.g. Sylinx). The prerequisite for this is, of course, that there is a network. At least in the West, this is not a problem ... Sometimes you will even have a better connection than with radios.

CONCLUSION: The MOLLE Mobile Pouch for iPhone 5 integrates the phone into the gear. It gets even better with a suitable PTT. The pouch is a case and protects the smartphone very well. It was not invented by FMA, but only adapted. The original pouch is from Juggernaut Defense and is used with Motorola Atrix or Galaxy Note by the real professionals. Still, a creative and good implementation for one of the most common phones. Whether the Mobile Pouch will be available for other popular phone types is not known to us.
