AOR1 was yesterday, nowadays everyone wants AOR2. But the original Crye suits are still moving in unaffordable heights. That's why we are pleased to present you a copy from FFI (Flash Force Industries) today:
The Rippstop AOR2 is quite well done, there are hardly any deviations from the original pattern here. The stretch fabric is a different story, it looks a bit too dark green overall, but that should take care of itself after a few washes. The fabric feels very pleasantly soft yet robust. In terms of size, the uniform is cut very European, the fit is good. The person shown in the picture is 178cm tall and weighs 75 kg. But now to the details.
The shirt is not Gen2 due to the lack of elbow pads, but rather Gen3. This is by the way the biggest flaw we could find. The attached sleeve pockets are equipped with Velcro and are closed with buttons and/or Velcro. The functional fabric does its job quite well and is comfortable to wear.
Pants
The pants are delivered without knee pads as standard. We opted for Gen3 Pads as we find them more comfortable. Finally, a pants copy where the height of the knee pads is correct. With other manufacturers, these are usually 5 cm too high. The pocket arrangement is taken directly from Crye, as is the height adjustment of the knee pads in the pant pockets. The belt loops are rather tight to easily pass a normal 5 cm wide belt through them. The pants are not closed with a zipper, as is usually the case, but with buttons. In our opinion, not a wrong decision.
CONCLUSION: Overall, a very high-quality reproduction of a uniform set that is much too expensive in its original version. Apart from the generational conflict at the top, there are no real criticisms.
