REVIEW: FFI 6Z94 Type UW Plate Carrier Vest w/ 6 Pouch Set

Two plate carriers in one review image? Yes, on the left the original from London Bridge Trading and on the right the FFI clone for the Milsim Geardo of the world. Both for Navy SEALs going on boarding missions - classic VBSS (visit, board, search and seizure). In the maritime field, SEALs usually use a drysuit because there's nothing worse than getting cold in the sea. The Maritime Assault Suite (MAS) is kept in grey, which is quite a good camouflage on the ocean. The equipment is also in the color "MAS Grey". MAS Grey is approximately as great a color as Ranger Green or the Austrian RAL7013. An average shade that fits in many environments. By the way, in this image is the original plate carrier for Navy SEALs in full gear for a boarding mission.

The boarding equipment is not that common and tends to have a solid price. So there is a clone kit, which comes from FFI. This is the replica of the equipment we want to take a look at today. J.K.Army calls it 6Z94, where this set is available. The back can also be delightful. View from behind. 6Z94 is a classic 6094 with rescue handle and fully equipped with MOLLE.

The shoulder pads are included. You can see the velcro tunnels for radio devices or drinking tubes.

The cummerbund in the VBSS version differs slightly from a regular "Land-6094". The original comes with foam pads in addition to the plates, which are intended to serve as buoyancy aids in case someone falls into the water.

FFI also provides its set with dummy plates. These go in the front and back plate pockets of the carrier, or on the sides in the cummerbund.

Here's nothing firm. We press with our fingers, it's black covered foam. So no illusions that this lightweight would feel like a real plate. Still nice because they stiffen the plate carrier.
