A first aid kit should also be quick at hand. That's why Ferro Concepts developed its LW-QRT Quick Release Tourniquet Pouch. The pouch fits both the new TQS Military Emergency Tourniquet and the older Combat Application Tourniquet. SPARTANAT has taken a look at the pouch for you.
View of the pouch: A small red cross is discreetly sewn on the front, making it clear what it's for. On the side of the back, you can see that the Velcro and loop come together, allowing you to quickly open the pouch with one pull.
On the back: practical MOLLE, so the pouch fits on any gear that has MOLLE. Ferro Concepts has a very good closure system on its MOLLE: the fabric strip is soft, but the end piece is stiffened with plastic. Only the hard part is folded over and looped through. This keeps the pouch securely in place.
Now we insert a tourniquet: the front of the pouch is folded down, revealing the tourniquet inside. Place it in the front, press it firmly together so the Velcro strips are nicely aligned, then put on the back and finally close the very strong snap button. The LW-QRT Quick Release Tourniquet Pouch is "loaded".
On the gear: The pouch is mounted wherever you want it. If needed, open the snap button and tear open the pouch, the tourniquet is already at hand (see also video below).
CONCLUSION: An extremely well thought out and practical solution for attaching a tourniquet to gear.
You can get the LW-QRT Quick Release Tourniquet Pouch directly from Ferro Concepts in Multicam, Desert Digital, Realtree, and Coyote Brown for 18.99 CAD (excluding shipping).
