REVIEW: Ferro Concepts Gaiters

03/09/2013By Redaktion

From snow comes mud, and both, as well as rain and its consequences, can quickly ruin your day if you are wet up to your knees. Gaiters provide a good remedy for this. Ferro Concepts offers a few fine "Gaiters" in a special edition that also have very nice "nature-inspired" colors.

Here is the product of the Canadian gear forge in AOR2: folded on the left, unfolded on the right, there's not much to it. The body is made of Cordura and is velcroed at the front. Shock cord at the top to adjust it just below the knee, an elastic in the middle for the flex at the boot, and a hook at the bottom to attach the gaiters to the shoe.

Detail at the bottom: the attachment hook (left) and the loop that goes under the shoe. It is made of MOLLE fabric and adjustable.

CONCLUSION: Good gaiters that also match the color of the corresponding gear. How the MOLLE tape performs under the shoe would need to be tested in long-term use.

The Ferro Concepts Gaiters are available in Multicam, Desert Digital, AOR2, and Coyote Brown for 60 CAD (excluding shipping).
