REVIEW: Ferro Concepts Burglar Beanie

08/18/2012By Redaktion

"Do you have a screw loose?" - Rarely has the colloquial question of whether someone is still in their right mind been more appropriate than now, where one can actually dress their head in a waffle. We took a look at the Burglar Beanie from Ferro Concepts.

There are many beanies out there, but the one from Ferro Concepts is the only one made of waffle fleece that we know of. The material itself is called Polartec Grid Fleece. In front is the Sphinx logo from Ferro, on the outside you can see the small squares of the waffle fleece. The cap comes in one size: one size fits all. Color: Coyote Brown.

The interior shows that the waffle fleece has been rolled up far. It is even quadruple stitched here, so it is especially warm around the ears and forehead. And the ridges in the fleece look like air channels. On the top, the fleece is only single-layered, so there is no heat buildup. By the way, the seams are excellently done, and the material is top-notch.

CONCLUSION: The Burglar Beanie (named after the criminal profession of burglars, who often wear such hats in cartoons) is an excellent, warm cap for the soon-to-arrive cool seasons. The waffle gives it a unique look that combines with great comfort (no wonder, the fleece is very soft). So sticking your head in the waffle does make sense.

You can get the Burgler Beanie directly from Ferro Concepts and it costs 22.50 CAD (approx. 19 Euros).
