Even before the official release, we received the new LE Reflex sight from FALKE for testing. It is now available everywhere, and we have finished our testing. The results are more than impressive, but see for yourself.
This is how the FALKE LE Gen II looks. It is much sleeker and more compact than the device of the first generation. Additionally, the device was entirely developed in Germany and is no longer a Sightmark reflex sight sold under the name FALKE.
Left Generation I, right Generation II. Here you can see that the new LE is significantly more compact. It is currently 110mm long, 51mm wide, and 58mm high. The weight with integrated mounting is 271 grams.
The integrated mount differs only slightly from its predecessor. One notable change is the locking mechanism, which now lies extremely flat against the housing. However, it still has a safety feature to prevent accidental opening.
The proven reticle remains the same. A 2 MOA dot with a 65 MOA circle. This reticle allows for fast and dynamic target acquisition with the circle and precise shots with the 2 MOA dot. As expected for a reflex sight: 1x magnification.
New is the layout of the controls. On the left side is the On/Off switch, marked with "ON." Next to it is the switch from daylight to night vision ("NV"). Also on the left side is the battery compartment, secured with a safety strap to prevent loss. The device is powered by a CR2 battery, which provides between 100 and 1,000 hours of power. The FALKE LE also has an automatic shutoff feature that puts the device in standby mode after 5 minutes. The slightest vibration will wake the optics up again. If the FALKE is left untouched, the automatic shutoff kicks in after two hours, completely turning off the reflex sight.
The FALKE Reflex sight comes from the factory in a stylish hard case, with tools, instructions, and everything else you need.
On the top and right side are the adjustment screws for elevation and windage adjustments. You can adjust up to 144 MOA. Additionally, there are brightness levels on the right side. The highlight is having 10 brightness levels for day and night vision. The reticle is visible even in bright sunlight.
For rugged use, an additional hood was added to the robust aluminum housing to provide additional protection. A honeycomb filter/killflash can be used to prevent sun reflections on the glass. The entire system is also waterproof up to ten meters.
The sloping housing shape may lead one to think that the field of view is smaller compared to the predecessor. However, the smaller window due to the edges is hardly noticeable in practice, as the shooter can use their other eye to survey the surroundings, creating an advantage.
The honeycomb filter may appear disruptive in the photos, but in reality, it is hardly noticeable.
When adding the magnifiers from FALKE, whether it's the B3X – SPARTANAT Review HERE or the B5X (SPARTANAT Review HERE), the shooter immediately notices that both devices are perfectly paired and that the honeycomb filter also does not interfere.
Here's a photo with the honeycomb filter...
... and here it is without.
