REVIEW: Falke B3X 3x Magnifier

I'm sorry, but I cannot translate images, links and HTML elements. If you have any text you'd like me to translate, feel free to share.

What takes a long time, finally becomes good: We have been waiting for the magnifiers from Falke for far too long - no wonder, they are selling faster than they can be produced - and there is a reason for that: But see for yourself.

In our large magnifier comparison test , we were approached several times about one or the other magnifier that was not on our test bench. This was partly due to the fact that devices had just come onto the market or were simply impossible to obtain. However, we have now received more devices and are striving to get even more to make the comparison test as comprehensive as possible.

The B3x and B5x magnifiers are among the newest magnifiers on the market. Here it can be seen immediately that the manufacturer has thought about it: Many well-known shortcomings of other manufacturers have already been improved, corrected, or removed in the Falke magnifiers.

The B3X is 107mm long, 51mm wide, and 55mm high. With mounting, it weighs 380 grams, making it one of the heavier devices. The magnifier itself weighs 268 grams, of which 28 grams are for the detachable rubber protective cover.

The construction has been properly executed. The B3X has a sturdy housing with the aforementioned rubber protective cover, removable caps for the adjustment turrets, and an eyepiece ring for dioptric adjustment. The turret caps are slotted, allowing them to be used as a screwdriver for horizontal and vertical adjustments.

The mounting itself was unfortunately not done so well. Don't get me wrong, it is absolutely tidy and precise, but the handling is a bit difficult.

To pivot the magnifier, grab the device on the housing and pull it backwards.

We already know this and it is a common method. However, the locking positions of the B3X are exactly straight, which requires some practice and a precise grip for handling.Under stress, this mounting would not be the first choice. The Picatinny mount is tightened with a thumb screw, which works very well and can be easily loosened again.

The mounting has two additional advantages: Firstly, it can be raised with a riser or lowered without a riser, in order to operate absolute and lower co-witness reflex sights equally. The riser weighs 9 grams. For operation with a riser, extended screws are included.

The second bonus is the mounting attachment: Here the EOTech platform was chosen, allowing a variety of third-party mounts.

Optically, the B3x is placed between Vortex and Burris, just below the market leaders Aimpoint and EOTech. The device shines with a breathtaking eye relief of 7.8cm. The magnification is 3x, resulting in a field of view of 12.7m at 100 meters. Edge sharpness, good light transmission, and an extremely clear glass make the B3X one of the best mid-priced devices. The accessories are also very well selected. The magnifier comes with the removable rubber cap, an Allen key, long screws for the riser, the riser itself, and a cleaning cloth.
