Good knives are expensive. This is an illusion that especially as a person with a passion for sharp things, one willingly indulges in. It is true, hand-forged, in small batches, from a workshop with a good name - all of this means quality and comes with a price. And so, some knives end up being too good for everyday use. The Enforcer MAT II MD is the opposite of that, it is affordable, not from a small production - yet it boasts great quality. We have tested it for you. Here it comes: in an inconspicuous box, with a tip guard, accessories securely packaged in plastic. First look, first impression.
And this doesn't change after unpacking, on the contrary: the MAT II MD comes with a high-quality sheath, the first big plus. Professional Kydex, sharp-edged and well-made.
Kydex is a popular choice for knife sheaths, as it can be formed tightly to prevent the knife from slipping out.
This sheath also comes equipped with a Tek-Lok. Ideal for attaching to a belt.
The Tek-Lok has a bridge that allows for adjusting the width of the belt. It sits perfectly in place.
There is a closure on the underside that easily clasps and locks the Tek-Lok in place when worn, ensuring it stays securely fastened. Others would charge more just for this beautiful sheath with attachment options than the total cost of the knife with accessories.
The Enforcer MAT II MD is a total of 17 cm long and weighs 222 grams. This means it is not a Rambo knife, showing off how big it is, but rather a utility knife with a realistic size. Not a combat tool, but a tool. The very pleasing shape admittedly reminds us of other outdoor knives. This is probably not a coincidence, as the Chinese would say.
The handle itself is made of modern G10 and has two parts. The knife itself is full tang, meaning it runs all the way through. At the back, you can attach a lanyard if you wish.
The lanyard holder also functions as a glass breaker and won't break if you use it to hit material you want to break.
SPARTANAT is the online magazine for Military News, Tactical Life, Gear & Reviews. The blade shape is classically beautiful and practical. The working surface is eight centimeters long. Enforcer chooses 8Cr13Mov for the knife construction. Solid steel, not the worst, not the best. Good enough for a utility knife that is meant to be used heavily.
The blade edge is designed for different types of grip. There is a section at the top with ridges to prevent slipping when the user places their thumb on the blade for extra support.
There is also a large notch between the handle scales and the blade, allowing for a very close grip on the blade. Ideal for carving or finer cutting tasks. Enforcer is distributed in Germany by Bucher.
