REVIEW: The belt parade (2) - BDU and Duty Belts

10/10/2013By Redaktion

No, it's not just a good belly that holds up your pants. Belts do that, and they're also very useful otherwise. Some time ago we had a belt parade, now we continue it for you and introduce SR Tactical, 3NITY, and STRATAGEM. We explain what each belt can do.

SR Tactical BeltA magnificent piece of Riggers Belt comes from SR Tactical. Here you get German craftsmanship in your hands, which of course comes at a price. The belt is an unlined rigger, meaning it is not reinforced. The stitching withstands a tensile test of 11kN (a video of this can be found on the SR Tactical website). It's nice and practical that it also features a Cobra buckle from AustriAlpin (INTERVIEW HERE with the manufacturer). The V-ring comes from parachute technology and is specially coated, so corrosion can't harm it. Interesting not only for maritime special forces. The belt is made to order, so you can also have this beauty without the V-ring and choose from different color types for the Cobras.

3nity BeltThe German manufacturer 3NITY relies on this field belt: a classic buckle with a latch, a good metal triangle for personal safety. The Commando Belt does its job perfectly. This rigger is available in Tan and OD and is simply threaded and velcroed through the buckle. The quality is right, the price is affordable.

Startagem BDU BeltYou can't avoid the Cobra: This belt comes from STRATAGEM in Berlin. Yes, it's a suspender that proves they are best kept up with a quick-release buckle. The three-centimeter wide webbing also fits trousers that are not designed for wide belts. The downside of a Cobra: It can't be threaded through every pair of pants because ultimately it is quite angular and large. Doesn't matter, undo the male end, thread the belt through, and reattach the Cobra. It also sits well on civilian pants, no wonder, it has a cool buckle that any girlfriend will soon appreciate. (Another reason for personal discipline to keep that belly in check: Cobras can't be opened under tension …)

Stratagem Duty BeltThe Instructor Belt from STRATAGEM, on the other hand, is four centimeters wide and has a lining. Plastic has been sewn in to stiffen it. The belt is worn over a regular belt and fits holsters and other gear excellently. The belt remains stable, which is extremely practical, especially when putting on and taking off equipment. In the image, we see the obligatory Cobra and a look at the inner structure of the perfectly stitched belt.

CONCLUSION: A suitable belt for every purpose. And for every budget. SR Tactical offers a perfect Riggers Belt, hand-sewn in Germany. 3NITY is the affordable contrast program. STRATAGEM also comes across as exclusive, whether it's the BDU or Instructor Belt, with handcrafted work from Germany. The Cobra has become almost a uniform trend.

The SR Tactical Riggers Belt costs 69 euros. The Commando Belt from 3NITY is priced at 19.90 euros. The price for the BDU Belt is 49.90 at STRATAGEM Instructor Belt upon request, as it is also sewn to order and available in different options.
