What the Blue Mauritius is to stamp collectors, custom-made equipment pieces are to Geardo. This here is one of those pieces. And even the "Tag" indicates that everything here is "Costum" and rare. Manufactured directly by Crye Precision, this is called the "Lightweight Recce Carrier" and comes in SEAL AOR1. Allegedly, only about 20 pieces were made, produced directly for DEVGRU.
But even former DEVGRU Operators don't keep everything. The front looks relatively classic: sewn directly onto the plate carrier, you'll find three M4 Mag Pouches, with MBITR Radio compartments on the right and left. The plate carrier was produced in 2008 for DEVGRU.
The back is pretty crazy and looks different from any other back panels we know. It's a foldable backpack with the option to integrate a Camelbak. The access possibilities are interesting: The "backpack" can be opened from the sides with snaps. The SAPI compartments also open from the sides and accommodate Swimmer Cut or Amoeba Plates.
Probably designed for quick access: the snaps are for the SAPI compartments, which can be opened from both sides. Plates are provided at the front and back. A Camelbak can fit in the back, and besides the plates, a PCU or food can fit as well. The straps on the backpack are adjustable, allowing the wearer to decide the volume of the Lightweight Recce Carrier themselves.
Special THX to Aaron!
