REVIEW: Coyote Gear CIRAS Maritime

The CIRAS - originally from Eagle Industries - has become a legend and can already be considered a classic gear. There are countless copies on the open market. Today we want to introduce you to one that almost deserves the "Made in Germany" seal of approval: the CIRAS Maritime Set, available at SNIPER AS.

In the cover image you can see the Maritime CIRAS in Tan from Coyote Gear. The Tan color is slightly lighter than the MJK from Eagle, but much lighter than Coyote Brown. The front without pockets is very unspectacular. The MOLLE loops are all sewn perfectly, and all other seams are very well done. We would classify the size as Large, but it also fits slim individuals. The only minor criticism compared to the original CIRAS is the color of the Velcro on the release handle (the loop under the chin), which is OD in the original, and Tan here. The quick release mechanism works as it should: quick. Rip and down goes the entire armor.

Speaking of pockets: the CIRAS is delivered as a Fullset, including 11 pockets, sling, and fake soft inserts. Everything a player needs, even a dump pouch. The processing of the accessories is also impeccable. The pockets are as follows:

• 2x Single M4 Mag Pouch (for two mags each)
• 1x Double Pistol Mag Pouch (for two mags)
• 1x Admin Pouch
• 1x PRC Radio Pouch large (MBITR)

• 1x Hydration Carrier Pouch (bladder not included)
• 1x Mag Drop/NVG Pouch with elastic band

In the side view, the attachment flaps and cummerbund are visible. On the back, a familiar sight, with many MOLLE loops and the rescue handle, or in new German jargon, Emergency Rescue Carry Handle (ERCH). There is enough space on a CIRAS to easily accommodate the necessary and unnecessary pockets.

The inside is completely made of mesh fabric. In the compartment for the SAPIs, there are also Fastex buckles for optional lower body protection. The tan-colored fake inlay is also recognizable.

CONCLUSION: The Coyote Gear CIRAS is an excellent set offer that shines with first-class workmanship and has hardly any qualitative differences from the original. Anyone who wants to get a CIRAS Mar, which is now almost "old school," will be pleased with it, especially because the set includes everything (except the bladder) needed to have a complete suit of armor.
