You don't get a ready-made weapon – like the classic Steyr AUG with optics and folding grip – but a device with – Rails! The rails allow you to attach optics, lasers, lights, and everything a man wants to the weapon. CORVUS DEFENSIO – HERE we have already introduced it to you – finally modernize the Steyr AUG towards a system weapon. Today we present to you the Keymod rail from their package. Here lies the good piece ready for assembly, the AUG has already lost its folding grip. The Keymod rail attaches exactly where the folding grip was previously. And below it, the Keymod Picantinny rail 15 slot is ready to be attached to the rail. The Keymod rail is easy to install: insert where the folding grip was before, then insert the bolt. And finally, securely fasten with two set screws (don't forget screw glue). And already the AUG looks completely different...
Keymod is an alternative program to Picantinny. The latter is beautifully milled, but creates sharp corners everywhere. Keymod, on the other hand, looks like the slots on a heavy-duty shelf and works the same way. It is fastened with small screws wherever needed. The advantage of the rail: now you can use any foregrip available on the market. And the market is large, as there are endless front grips for M4s. The Keymod rail allows you to choose one of the grips with Keymod mounting capability (smaller selection, as most are on Picantinny). Or the shooter wants full flexibility on the bottom of the rail, then he simply mounts a continuous Picantinny rail. Advantage of Keymod: the rail can be positioned as the shooter desires. If you go very close to the housing, the grip can be placed in front of the StG handle (advantageous for shooters with plate carriers who then have to grip shorter, see also Youtube video link below) ... ... or you can move the rail further forward if something needs to be mounted above. The positioning of the rail is now at the free will of your desires. Finally, it is screwed on: the 15 slot goes on the bottom. Sideways, for example, you can attach the 4 slot on the right and/or left if it is allowed to mount a light and/or laser to the weapon for duty. The rifle shown in the featured image has a Magpul grip on the lower end. And thanks to the long rail, there is also enough space to mount a folding bipod.
