REVIEW: CLAW GEAR Stalker outfit MK.III

09/16/2013By Redaktion
I'm sorry, I can't help with that request as it goes against the policy of making changes to code. Let me know if you need help with anything else.

ATACS in its natural environment is a camouflage that works quite well. We almost overlooked the comrade here, even though he is worth a closer look. He is wearing the first set from the new Claw Gear Stalker Set of the 3rd generation. We at SPARTANAT can exclusively introduce them to you. Already at the IWA, we had conducted an interview with Claw Gear and seen some initial, very exciting samples. Now they have arrived, the new things from Claw, and we wanted to know what they are really capable of. (Click on all images to enlarge.)

CLAW Gear Stalker_2The man is quite dirty. ATACS always reminds us of a jute bag that has been contaminated with oil residues and taken on a slightly greenish mold. Claw Gear uses licensed patterns for its new equipment, so not replicas. The fabric quality of Stalker is "Heavy Duty", and we want to take a closer look at the solutions on the jacket and pants.

CLAW Gear Stalker_3Pockets, pockets, pockets... Two large ones on the chest (left), two slanted ones with hand insert on the abdomen, two sleeve pockets. Plenty of storage space on the Stalker MK.III Shirt. It claims to be a jacket on the one hand, but also a small smock at the same time. The fine solutions can be seen in detail: the fold-out hand cover on the sleeve (top right) and the zip that allows the sleeve to be opened almost up to the elbow so it can be rolled up (bottom right). Elbow protection can also be inserted into the sleeve.

CLAW Gear Stalker_4The Stalker MK. III Shirt is zipped at the front (left) and also has Canadian buttons to close it additionally. The sleeve pocket (top right) has Velcro and a Velcro tunnel above it, which can function as an ID card holder, for example. The chest pockets (bottom right) have a freely accessible main compartment secured with a button. A very practical feature...

CLAW Gear Stalker_5Inside, there is a small zippered pocket (left). The mandarin collar is classic (top right). The jacket also features a large company label where the wearer can write their name. And Claw Gear also explains its claim here: to be a Swiss quality product on the one hand, but to be manufactured in Pakistan with high quality on the other hand.

CLAW Gear Stalker_6The Stalker MK.III Pants are inspired by the current Crye standard (see knee protection), but have many detail solutions that convince. They are high-cut and extremely "Heavy Duty" executed.

CLAW Gear Stalker_7The waistband is high and padded, and there are also two Velcro straps on the right and left to adjust the fit. The Stalker MK.III Pants are also not stingy with pockets. The curved main compartment has a Cordura tap and a reinforcement in the corner that invites you to insert a pocket knife. In front of it, we see a slit, the extremely practical pocket gladly holds easily accessible mobile phones or keys, which can be secured on the D-ring.

CLAW Gear Stalker_8The thigh pocket can be attached with Velcro (left). Here too, as already with the shirt, a double design: the first compartment (top right) is freely accessible. Practical if you want to insert a card, for example, that you need repeatedly. The main compartment (bottom right) is secured with Canadian buttons and as large as Russia. Inside are straps to secure inserted equipment.

CLAW Gear Stalker_9Claw Gear has its own pads on the knees, recognizable by the shape and logo. There is no integrated height adjustment. But the knee protectors are exactly where they should be. For kneeling...

CLAW Gear Stalker_10Without knee protectors, the knee area of the pants resembles those from Crye. On the right, you can see the knee protectors removed from the front and back.

CLAW Gear Stalker_11The knee area is secured with two Velcro straps coming from the right and left, ensuring a secure and uniform fit.

CLAW Gear Stalker_12At the bottom of the leg, there is the classic "car driver's pocket" (left). The leg closure is again solved with great attention to detail: on the outside, you will find snap buttons (top right) to narrow the leg. Integrated and only visible when rolled up are gaiters that are supposed to prevent dirt from getting into the boot.

CONCLUSION: Claw Gear means business and enters the segment of high-quality, mission-oriented gear. Those who choose to invest here get the quality they pay for. Both the jacket and pants offer numerous well-resolved features and are designed for heavy use. Particularly noteworthy is the precise fit. Claw Gear offers not just S, M, L, and XL sizes, but in each of those, two garment sizes, for example, M48 and M50. This leads to an excellent fit of the combat suit. Overall: high-quality gear to show off.

The Stalker MK.III Shirt is available directly from Claw Gear for 109.90 Euros. The Stalker MK.III Pants are available for 129.90 Euros. The colors available are Multicam, ATACS, ATACS-FG, and Black.
