We have already presented to you the Stalker set from the new CLAW GEAR, which is basically the Direct Action suit. Today it's the Raider Set's turn, the field suit from CLAW. Again, we took ATACS into the green and examined closely what the Raider can do.
That's the Raider MK.III Shirt and the Raider MK.III Pant on the man. The biggest difference compared to the Stalker set is that the operational clothing does not have integrated knee or elbow protectors. This is good and practical, as they are not always necessary. The Raider is designed as an everyday field suit.
The first thing you notice is a very large collar (right top) that - when closed - reaches up to the chin. Protection against dust and abrasive rifle straps is not a problem. Special fabric (CoolMax) keeps sweat in check. The shoulder area (left) is solidly constructed, but in a way that nothing can chafe on the gear carrier. At the back: a small Velcro for an IR tab (right bottom).
On the sleeve there is a two-line pen pocket (left). The upper arm pockets are designed in a classic way with a lot of Velcro and top access (right). At the sleeve end, it can be folded out to protect the palm of the hand, or can also be zipped open to roll up the sleeve nicely. Very practical solution.
The chest area has a Velcro strip and angled chest pockets (left). These are closed from the top with Canadian Buttons (right top). They also have a side zipper access, so when wearing armor, you can easily access the contents of the chest pocket with the Raider.
The Raider field jacket is simply zipped. Inside there is a large company label from CLAW GEAR and the opportunity to enter your own name here.
The Raider MK.III Pant has a wide cummerbund, is overall high-waisted and designed for you to wear a heavy belt. If you do, it's probably better to wear a Combat Shirt with it than a field jacket. The pants pockets have reinforcements for clipping on a pocket knife. At the front there are also two horizontal pockets, which are very practical for things that need to be quickly at hand. Mobile phone or keys.
The thigh pocket (left) has two access points: buttoned from the top when standing, and a zipper that is very practical when sitting in a car and needing something from the thigh pocket. In the pocket there is a D-ring (right top). On the lower leg the obligatory "carrying pocket" the size of an M4 magazine.
Here is the knee area (left): Foam can be inserted here for padding. CoolMax ensures here too that sweat is not too annoying. The knee area can also be adjusted tighter, there is a fabric strap at the back (right top) for velcro. At the bottom, the pants can be adjusted tighter with shock cord (right bottom).
The Raider MK.III Pant can be adjusted at the waist with velcro. The back pockets are zipped and slightly offset to the side. And a double layer of fabric at the bottom of the pants has never hurt anyone...
CONCLUSION: With its Raider MK.III set, CLAW GEAR presents an efficient and modernly designed field suit that combines many features that are practical and good. The execution is high quality and designed for professional use.
The Raider MK.III Shirt is available directly from Claw Gear for 99.90 euros. The Raider MK.III Pants are available for 109.90 euros. The colors are Multicam, ATACS, ATACS-FG and Black.
