Summer is over. Not only in the mountains it gets cool during the day and cold at night. And ultimately the expectation should be: "Winter is coming." From CARINTHIA, there is the G-Loft Technical Light Garment (TLG) Jacket, this is a fascinating all-rounder for the transitional season or when it's just slightly chilly. We took a look at what it can do.The outer shell of the jacket is made of 100 percent polyamide. Apart from the embroidered chest logo, there are no special design highlights at first glance. The back is also plain. It was well thought out and the TLG was cut longer towards the bottom, so that everything remains protected even when bending over. The hood is very light and securely attached to the jacket.

Things get more exciting on the side. Techno Stretch is used along the entire length of the body side and the inner arms. On the one hand, this material ensures the necessary freedom of movement and ventilation, on the other hand, it also allows the wind to enter the jacket, the TLG is not a windbreaker. Micro-net fabric is processed under the armpits for optimal ventilation.

In the hem area, the TLG jacket can be tightened with drawstring stoppers so that the warm air does not escape. And to prevent drafts from below...

The sleeve is extended on the back of the hand. This minimizes the cold bridge between the glove and the jacket.

The TLG offers you two zippered front pockets, where you can easily fit a hood, glasses, and gloves.

If you want to feel like a French general, there is an internal zippered Napoleon pocket above the heart.

The really exciting thing about the TLG is the lining. This consists of two different G-Loft fillings. In the upper area in hexagon shape, the G-LOFT® STi (Stable Insulation, 30g), and in the lower area the G-LOFT® Ci (Compact Insulation, 40g) lining. This type of insulation is called Carinthia ISO Mapping® Technology and it works really well. In plain language: different linings provide different warmth to different parts of the body. The core stays well insulated, the arms and everything else stay mobile. HERE is a nice video that explains the technology behind it.

The TLG offers you a rather close-fitting hood. When the zipper is closed all the way up, only a minimum of the face is exposed to the elements.

There is a drawstring at the back of the head to make it tighter. At the front, a small visor is incorporated into the hood. One disadvantage of the hood, due to the tight cut, the zipper must always be opened for putting on or taking off. Complaining at the highest level, but we wanted to point that out. The advantage is: when the hood is closed, a small part of the face is exposed to wind and weather.

The zipper closes high and is provided with a chin guard at the end. A very classic construction that has proven itself.

The entire jacket weighs 280 grams (in size M) and can be folded relatively small, to about the size of a liter mug. This makes it easy to carry in a backpack wherever you go.

The polyamide is incidentally highly water-resistant. A small rain shower passes over the TLG without a trace. However, if you stay in the rain for a long time, moisture slowly creeps inside.

CONCLUSION: Thanks to a special mix of different G-Loft linings, the CARINTHIA TLG Jacket is very light and yet warms beautifully. And that's the magic of this excellent jacket. It not only looks extremely good and stylish, it is an all-rounder for the whole year. In the transitional season, it stands its ground, but already for cooler summer nights, this jacket is perfect as a backup. In winter, it is ultimately very well suited as an additional insulation layer. CARINTHIA has achieved a great success with the TLG, a sporty year-round clothing item with versatile uses.
