Not warm outside anymore ? But also not really cold yet ? The human needs hybrid jackets. Carinthia offers one of those with the G-LOFT ISG model which we tested for you.

The G-LOFT by Carinthia is a mix between a LOFT vest and a softshell jacket.

The torso and back are lined with chambers in the style of classic down vests with breathable G-LOFT ISO+ Body 40 /gm², while the sides, bottom hem, sleeves, and hood are unlined.

This has the advantage that it provides full freedom of movement, the jacket is very compactly packable and can also be worn as a mid-layer without being too bulky. The ISG has a very close-fitting and athletic cut. It is also quite short, making it perfect for layering underneath.

The material used is a 3L softshell that feels comfortable against the skin and is also relatively quiet. Furthermore, it is slightly stretchy in all directions. The lined area is enclosed by Shelltex Ultra from the inside and outside. The inside of the collar is made of soft thermofleece.

The hem and hood can be adjusted with an elastic cord and stopper.

All exposed zippers are water-repellent and have a zipper pull that is easy to operate with gloves.

The front zipper is additionally lined with a wind flap on the inside, providing optimal protection.

On the sides, right next to the large insulated hand warming pockets, there are two additional zippers for ventilation. These are placed relatively low, but work quite well in this position. Additionally, they can be accessed easily for a sidearm.

The sleeves of the jacket are anatomically shaped and tend to be slightly long. On the upper arms, you will find the obligatory sleeve pockets with large Velcro area and zipper compartment. Carinthia includes a Carinthia and a G-LOFT patch here.

The shoulder area of the ISG is additionally reinforced with strong fabric to protect the jacket when wearing a backpack. On the right side at the front, the Carinthia logo is embroidered.

The collar is very high and relatively stiff, some may like this, others may find it bothersome. In any case, it is cuddly thanks to the thermofleece.

The hood is spacious and also has a visor.

It can be completely removed – it is attached with 2 snap buttons and a zipper. The inside is adorned with the Carinthia logo multiple times.

It can also be stored in the collar, but then it becomes very thick and even stiffer.
