REVIEW: Arc'teryx LEAF Rho LTW Neck Gaiter

02/02/2016By Redaktion

Everyone knows it: a scarf or neckerchief is always uncomfortable somewhere, slipping out or the wind whistling in. Not without reason, so-called neck gaiters are very popular, as they require less material and can also be quickly used as face protection. From Arc’teryx LEAF comes the Rho LTW Neck Gaiter, which accompanies us through the winter.

Fleece is one of the best materials for insulation, but in general, it is difficult to get highly elastic, as one would wish for a roll scarf. So Arc’teryx has opted for a combination of 95 percent merino wool and 5 percent elastane. Merino wool provides good insulation, is light, and suitable for allergy sufferers.

Seams and tags are placed on the back, which is beneficial for wearing comfort. On the front - practically on the nose when you pull the neck gaiter up - the Arc’teryx logo is embroidered.

Pulled over the nose and ears, it provides good protection for the entire face, only the eyes are still freezing.

CONCLUSION: There is not much to say about this product - as simple as it is - it is perfect. Perfectly made, light, quick-drying, and breathable: this piece of equipment should not be missing in any winter kit. BTW, for those who like it colorful: the same product is available in other colors and the same name in the civilian Arc'teryx line (e.g. in practical gray).

The Rho LTW Neck Gaiter is available in Crocodile (presented here) and black at TACWRK for 35€.
