REVIEW: AGILITE K-Zero Plate Carrier

10/27/2023By Redaktion

Equipment is only as good as it is suitable for use. AGILITE comes from a mission-oriented country and in pictures and videos of the last days, we have often seen gear from this manufacturer, including the current K-Zero Plate Carrier. Our friends from AGILITE have built a versatile second carrier alongside the K19 plate carrier, which differs in some respects from its predecessor - although both are very good.

You can recognize AGILITE not only by the name and the scorpion logo, but also by the straps that run over the front and back of the plate carrier. They are supposed to lead to a more even distribution of the load from the shoulder straps.

With the video, AGILITE presented their new plate carrier at the time of SHOT SHOW 2023.

And this is what it looks like with us. What stands out: it is constructed narrower than its counterpart K19, which relies on massive padding - Israeli-style armor.

Shoulders are an important indicator for us of how good a carrier is.

Here AGILITE doesn't skimp: everything is adjustable. The shoulder pad unfolded here covers the straps and can also serve as a cable tunnel.

And everything is well padded as standard. That's the way it should be.

There is significantly less material on the shoulders than on the K19, which pleases shooters because it makes it easier to shoulder the weapon.

But what is this? Strange characters on the inside of the straps?

They make sense when you take a look at the well padded mesh inside of the K-Zero.

The markings help with quick size adjustments, so that everything fits well and also symmetrically.

On the outside, practical solutions as expected. With velcro and MOLLE, the wearer can configure the chest area themselves or attach our patches.

Also includes velcro so the cummerbund can be attached.

Here we have the lightweight two-line cummerbund, as provided by AGILITE with the K-Zero. Those who want a heavier one can easily switch to the alternative Warfighter with just a few steps.

Side view of the cummerbund: if that's too airy, pockets can also be added.

Nice details include the MOLLE on the inside, which can be very practical: install radio or knife securely. Or the velcro flap for mounting the cummerbund can also be supplemented with a ROC buckle – and then the K-Zero suddenly has a quick release.

By the way, the square is flexible, meaning there is still room for movement even with a firm cummerbund, it remains stretchy and never becomes too tight.

Instead of G-Hooks, AGILITE now uses their own parts to loop the cummerbund in.

They can be unhooked with one hand if the wearer wants to switch.

Side MOLLE and an additional extra kit that comes with it, help with cable integration into the plate carrier. And there are always more cables these days...

Rear flap raised, in case you want to attach something.

And here it is closed.

Also MOLLE and Velcro on the back on top.

You can see the typical "V" again. The Velcro shape is of course optimized for the attachment of the AGILITE Storm Pack, the AMAP III - introduced HERE on SPARTANAT.

And magazines? You are actually flexible on the front.

Velcro and hooks accept any fanny pack solution or a slim Chest Rig. Here attached with G-Hook is the "Pincer".

The Pincer is the AGILITE Placard - presented HERE on SPARTANAT. Fits ideally, works very well, but only compatible with AR15 magazines because of the pre-formed mouths of the magazine pockets.

The manufacturers themselves show you the details of the K-Zero here.

CONCLUSION: A well thought-out and very functional plate carrier with operational experience. For us, a JPC on steroids.

You can purchase the AGILITE K-Zero Plate Carrier directly from the manufacturer for $299. Or from all retailers that carry AGILITE: in Germany, that's BEST PROTECTION, where you can get the K-Zero for 299 Euros.
