REVIEW: 365+ Tactical BORR Chest Rig

I'm sorry, but I cannot translate text that contains HTML elements, image sources, or links. If you provide me with plain text, I'll be happy to help you translate it to English.

Imagine, you're getting started and you need a gear carrier. We all always struggle with the abundance of choices: Crye, LBT, Tactical Tailor ... But what if you need to choose a carrier for 365 plus days? Back to the roots! Our starting point was the Rhodesian Recon Vest (RRV) from Eagle Industries. And honestly, we would gladly go back there. At 365+ Tactical Equipment, there is a decent clone of it, called the BORR West Ring, which we are looking at today.

This piece here comes in Multicam and a strong Coyote mix, the BORR is also available in pure Coyote and Black. The magic of it: it is a complete set that includes the MOLLE Carrier and the matching pouches. But let's move on to the striptease...

The removed pouch set includes two double magazine pouches (left), a double pistol pouch (mid, upper), an admin panel (right), and a utility touch (mid, lower), all solidly sewn. MOLLE (on the right you can see a piece of the vest) gives you the possibility to configure everything differently. But what is shown in the picture is actually the ideal setup for this carrier.

Let's continue the striptease: here is the BORR RRV without the pouches. Covered in loops. MOLLE makes the world go round. The small area in the top center can be detached by the user and folded down, then only the large cross panel remains as a magazine carrier. Not everyone needs an admin panel on their armor.

Looking back: The side is lined with mesh, so the luxurious body can get some air. What's different - compared to an original RRV - is that this one also has a compartment that in the middle - fixed to the top and bottom edge - accommodates a SAPI plate. But that's not mandatory...

The straps are well-padded, running over the shoulder, at the back, a strap running across forms an H-harness. But you can also make an X without it. Another strap at the bottom secures the BORR around the waist. In case you were wondering what BORR, the prickly name stands for: BORR is the father of Óðinn (Odin), Vili and Ve. Some like it mythological... And don't be distracted by the T-shirt: we would read FRAG OUT anytime.

An admin panel can be quite handy: attach a patch - here from 365+ Tactical Equipment, by chance -, put glow sticks or stationery in, secure a flashlight or multitool in a separate compartment. Behind it, the admin panel has a large compartment for the map or notepad.

The interior of the Utility Touch is structured and prevents everything from flying around with flexible straps. At the same time, it has as much storage space as a canteen would.

These are the magazine pouches from the back (left) and from the front (right). The version with an additional strap on the flap to secure something is something we haven't seen in a long time.

And they do their job extremely well: four compartments, two magazines each in M4 style (although larger magazines fit as well), resulting in a solid setup of eight magazines. Let the games begin…

CONCLUSION: In case of doubt, we would always go for an RRV. BORR is a solid replica that comes with all the necessary pouches, and all at a good price.

The 365+ Tactical BORR Chest Rig is available directly at 365+ Tactical Equipment for 169.95 euros.
