I am an applicant for service in special forces and, like probably some of you, have watched the SCAT Special Forces Introduction Course. From the beginning, I was aware that there are many others who are just looking for thrills or want to push their own limits. I wanted to orient myself for a possible military training...
About a year ago, I came across the offer from SCAT in Poland. There are several courses and trainings on the market conducted by various companies. I have also participated in some of them. However, when I arrived at SCAT, I immediately knew that the Special Forces Introduction Course was the best decision to improve myself and my performance. The experiences before that all had a relatively similar standard. Here, in the first few days, I already felt that I still have a lot to learn. This was not training as you know it from other training companies, not a walk in the woods with 5 shots with a pistol. I am an active soldier and officer. But I am interested in special forces. Therefore, I want to improve my theoretical knowledge and practical skills so that I am prepared when I apply.
Already in the first hours and the first night of the Special Forces Introduction Course, the trainers from SCAT made it clear to us that we are not here for fun. Not at all. The long-standing experience of the trainers - they come from GROM, Spetsnaz, Foreign Legion, ... - and their individual approach, prepare each participant for one of the most demanding trainings one can get.
The trainers demand effort. Each participant must take initiative, they cannot just passively participate. As student/participant No. 429, I experienced and learned things during my training that cannot be read in any book. Training at SCAT is at the highest level from start to finish, not least because each trainer brings their personal experiences and knowledge. At the same time, it must be emphasized that safety in training is top priority and is always guaranteed. Adrenaline is not lacking.
Taking part in a SCAT Special Forces Introduction Course helps answer the question of whether you have chosen the right path if you want to go towards special forces. The course I completed included a variety of useful and intellectually interesting trainings, such as handling and using firearms. Thanks to the trainers at SCAT and the two-week training, I know my weaknesses and can overcome my limits. Ultimately, I have learned how to improve myself.
Topics covered in the course:
- Introduction to Special Forces Tactics
- Survival and operational techniques for water and land
- Mental and physical preparation for selection courses
- Tactical observation during day and night, map reading
- Climbing
- Weapon safety and tactical shooting (AK, M4, Glock 17, Walther)
- Self-defense techniques (Sambo Combat)
- Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), First aid in combat
- Teamwork development and promotion of competitive spirit. Lessons I took from the course, which I took for myself: I will not settle for what I have achieved so far. I will continue to use my positive energy and strength to become even better. SCAT was the right decision for me, the Special Forces Introduction Course helped me.
I hope that I can measure myself with some of you in future joint training. The training was extremely varied and intensive, but I don't want to reveal too much. By the way, participation in a course does not guarantee a certificate, you really have to earn it.
Good luck and soldier's fortune. Student/participant 429
