Redux: The S&S PlateFrame continues to evolve.

The PlateFrame by S&S Precision takes a different approach than all others to strap a bulletproof plate to the body. We already introduced the classic PlateFrame to you here a long time ago and the ultra-modern, improved PlateFrame Modular here on SPARTANAT in detail. Now there is a new evolution stage of the PlateFrame, the PlateFrame Redux (PF-R)

When fully loaded, the PF-R doesn't look much different from other plate carriers. What stands out compared to the previous PlateFrames is the absence of the Kydex skeleton. Here, a semi-rigid material is used, into which the MOLLE/PALS slots are laser-cut. Quite innovative. What particularly pleases us is the almost affordable price of the new PlateFrame Redux of "only" 371.75 USD.

Here you can see the PF-R disassembled into its main parts. Very simple. Overall, the latest PlateFrame weighs less than a pound, so less than 450 grams. The cummerbund has a similar system to the PlateFrame Modular, which we really liked.

Due to the slim construction of the PF-R, it doesn't add much bulk in the side profile. In the rear section, you can see the carbon fiber-like material that provides the necessary load-bearing and stability.

This time, plastic buckles are used on the cummerbund. These are likely to be cheaper and easier to manufacture than the very special, super-flat metal buckles of the PlateFrame Modular.

To match the new plate carrier, there are also very minimalist, super-lightweight pouches, called "Operator System Suit (OSS) Redux." These pouches look very promising, but of course, any pouch with a MOLLE system will fit on the new Redux. We are excited to get our hands on this new carrier.
