Is the plate carrier getting on your nerves? Or do you want something more agile? The Reaper Rig from AGILITE is a fully modular and scalable chest rig that can adapt to any mission and need. Whether you want to use a micro rig or expand your gear: The Reaper Rig platform offers versatility, comfort, and customization options. We took a close look at the Reaper Rig from AGILITE.

Specifications

The Reaper Rig weighs 380 grams. AGILITE uses various materials including laser-cut Squadron laminate. Additionally, CURV thermoplastic composite material is used in the front plate interior. There are also laser-cut Velcro MOLLE overlay panels.

At the back of the Reaper Rig, a mesh material is used. This is intended to provide some comfort and wick moisture away.

The Carrying System

The Reaper Rig features an HX harness system. It combines the benefits of H and X harnesses, offering a flat fit, weight distribution, unrestricted mobility, comfort, and durability. Breathability is ensured by the mesh material.

The shoulders are not padded. In this respect, the Reaper Rig is a minimalist. After all, it is designed to carry only the essential lightweight gear.

The flat profile of the shoulder straps and the minimalist padding allow for carrying a backpack without pressure points.

The two laser-cut MOLLE slots serve to accommodate additional gear.

The cable management consists of two Velcro surfaces with rubber loops and a Velcro strap that keeps the cables neat and organized. The large Velcro strap is particularly suitable for hydration hoses or antennas.

Like the K Zero plate carrier from AGILITE, here a user-friendly and adjustable length adjustment system is used, allowing for easy and intuitive handling. The markings assist with quick size adjustments, ensuring everything fits well and symmetrically.

Unlike most other chest rigs, where the rig is adjusted at the back, the Reaper Rig is adjusted at the front, allowing for quick adjustments without having to take it off.

Here on the webbing, pockets or placards can be attached.

There are two attachment options: QUASM and G-Hook. You have the choice.

As everywhere on the Reaper Rig, the excess webbing can be rolled up and secured with Velcro One Wrap. This system exclusively uses compact ladder buckles. The advantage is that the user can further tighten or loosen the rig.

The ends of the 25 mm wide straps are neatly finished and processed. Rubber loops ensure that the webbing sits cleanly against the Reaper Rig, which is important for ensuring good and smooth functionality.

The horizontally running straps of the HX harness system are marked. This length adjustment is easy to operate and adjust via the ladder buckles. The markings help with rapid size adjustments, which is especially practical when frequently switching between different sizes.

Only the back strap has a Duraflex buckle closure for quicker and easier donning and doffing of the chest rig.

The Front

We have a 250 x 150 mm Velcro area at the front, on which six laser-cut MOLLE/PALS slots are arranged.

Various placards with hook-and-loop surfaces, such as the Pincer Placard Multi-Caliber Triple Mag Pouch, can be installed securely.

Upgraded and ready for use.

Alternatively, MOLLE/PALS-compatible equipment/magazine pouches can be firmly mounted on the chest rig, making them ideal for storing items such as utensils, tools, spare parts, or medications.

Behind it is a map pocket, equipped with two pull tabs. The map pocket inside is not subdivided and lacks pen holders or Velcro surfaces. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to reach when a placard with magazines is mounted in front.

The back of the front plate is entirely made of mesh material. The lower half of this mesh side can be folded down.

This is intended for accommodating a dangler pouch, such as the Six Pack Hanger Pouch or the Tourniquet Hanger from AGILITE, allowing it to be secured with Velcro.

On both sides, there is an optional extension set. This consists of two stiffened wings. On each side, there are four MOLLE slots. The loops between the front plate and the wings are used to accommodate the Duraflex quick-release buckle of the Warfighter Extension Set for the Reaper Rig. More on this in the next review here on SPARTANAT.

In Use with a Plate Carrier

The entire Reaper Rig can be used over a plate carrier.

The previously mentioned Velcro area on the inside of the Reaper Rig can be connected to the plate carrier. This achieves greater stability.

CONCLUSION

The Reaper Rig from AGILITE was designed as a minimalist model. This excellently crafted chest rig is expandable and adaptable for various operational scenarios. Only putting on the Reaper Rig proved to be somewhat challenging.

With the Warfighter expansion set, it becomes easier to use the quick-release and the additional Velcro area. Alternatively, it could be suggested that AGILITE include this Velcro area in the delivery of the Reaper Rig. It is nice that you can carry a backpack on the Chest Rig. However, the Micro Map Back Panel from AGILITE cannot be installed on the Reaper Rig. Overall, a purchase recommendation can be given for this Chest Rig.

The Reaper Rig from AGILITE is available in Ranger Green, Multicam, and Black for 129 euros at dealers who carry products from AGILITE, such as STEINADLER.
